00:00The NBI is now holding a Chinese national and two more Filipinos who committed espionage in the country.

00:07Their gadgets and equipment were also confiscated and found in a condominium in Makati.

00:14And Mary Zumali was found guilty.

00:18After obtaining a search warrant from the court, the NBI Special Task Force entered this condo unit in Makati.

00:25This is what the Chinese national, Deng Yuanqing, and the two Filipinos did.

00:31They espionaged and controlled some critical infrastructures of our country

00:35such as military bases, power grids, and malls

00:39using sophisticated equipment that was only installed in the back of the car.

00:43Other equipment was obtained by the raiding team inside the condo unit

00:47such as computer sets, laptops, servers, hard drives, electronic storage devices,

00:53routers, modems, mobile phones, TV monitors, and CCTV equipment.

00:58There were also IDs, passports, printers, scanners, bank books,

01:03hidden deposit slips, and documents worth millions of pesos

01:08and various documents and devices used for fund transfer.

01:13All the gadgets and equipment confiscated here

01:17were placed under the forensic investigation of the NBI

01:20to find out if there is evidence of espionage

01:24and other sensitive information that they can gather

01:27that can be used against the arrested suspects.

01:31The NBI will support the jury

01:35that obtained a lot of critical information that should not be obtained

01:40because it will affect our national security.

01:43The suspects were accused of violating the Commonwealth Act No. 616

01:47or an act to punish espionage and other offense against the national security

01:51in relation to Republic Act 10175 or Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
