00:00In an effort to intensify the coconut industry in the Philippines,

00:03the Philippine Coconut Authority plans to add more coconut plantations in Region 2.

00:07The details are reported by Vivian de Guzman of Radyo Pilipinas, Tuguegarao.

00:15I just encourage the PCA to continue to uplift their lives of our coconut farmers

00:20and empower them to improve their conditions.

00:23On the 50th anniversary of the Philippine Coconut Authority in 2023,

00:28President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. promised to improve the lives of coconut farmers in the Philippines.

00:36That is why the Philippine Coconut Authority Region 2

00:39immediately sought support from local governments

00:43to comply with the President's directive to plant 100 million coconut trees.

00:48With the help and support and active participation of all LGUs,

00:53we will be able to build a more progressive coconut industry here in Region 2.

01:00And to increase the production of coconut,

01:02the PCA's target is to add 2,000 to 18,000 hectares of coconut plantations in the region.

01:10In times of prosperity,

01:12it will benefit thousands of families in Cagayan

01:15who depend on the production of coconut like Father Mario.

01:19I am proud to be a member of the PCA and ATI.

01:30The PCA and ATI are building a learning site

01:41for the farmers to learn how to plant coconut trees.

01:51With the help of the Philippine Coconut Authority,

01:54local governments, and farmers,

01:57the coconut industry in the new Philippines will surely be active.
