00:00A few months before the election in 2025, the work and food security is the main priority of the Filipinos for the candidates.
00:08Based on the survey, the answer of our countrymen who were asked by GMI Integrated News is not yet clear.
00:15We have first news from Vea Pinlang.
00:18We asked some of our countrymen what their ideal candidate for the upcoming election is.
00:25Their answer is...
00:27Someone who has a voice and who fulfills his promises.
00:32Someone who is honest and transparent.
00:37You can see that what he says is true.
00:39Someone who is competent.
00:40Someone who will address our country if we have any issues.
00:47The problems of the country are all the same.
00:50Some of them are old enemies of the leaders.
00:53That's why one of the things that some voters want from the candidates for the election is job creation.
00:59There are still a lot of people who are looking for work that does not give them a sufficient position in the work that they want to do.
01:09We are nursing now, so we feel that it will be difficult for us to get into the hospital.
01:16The same is true for having an accessible and competitive education system.
01:21If the candidate really fights for the rights of a student,
01:26of course, not only will we benefit from it, but also the country.
01:31Because the more they invest in students, the more confident and competitive our country will be.
01:39And of course, a sufficient salary and proper working conditions for the workers.
01:44Increasing wages for the minimum wage.
01:47Because the prices are increasing, but not the wages.
01:51As breadwinners, I hope that we will fight for lower taxes.
01:55Things like that, so that we can provide online services to our workers.
02:01Some of them agree with the results of the social weather station survey of January 17 to 20,
02:07where 94% of Filipinos voted for the candidates who will address job creation.
02:13agriculture development, and food security.
02:1693% of Filipinos are looking for a better healthcare system.
02:21And 92% are in favor of the candidates who will promote equal access to education,
02:27the rights of workers, and the welfare of OFWs.
02:31Some of the Filipinos are looking for platforms for the candidates to vote
02:37on poverty and hunger, on the effects of climate change,
02:42on disaster preparedness, and on controlling the prices of basic goods and services.
02:48The survey has 1,800 respondents and has a plus-minus 2 margin of error.
02:54And it's not just the platforms that should be looked at when selecting the candidates.
02:59Although it's important to have experience,
03:01but there are also many who don't have experience in politics,
03:04who have a lot to do in their background.
03:07For example, they help their local communities,
03:10and also they advocate on issues.
03:13I hope that people will be smart to vote for the right person.
03:18For our future, because this is a long battle.
03:22This is the first news.
