00:00Tax Awareness Month this February, we asked some of our fellow citizens if they would like to know where they can go to pay their taxes.

00:24And now, it's Tax Awareness Month, we asked people on the street what they would like their fellow citizens to do.

00:37Now, it's Tax Awareness Month, the theme is,

00:39Face the Taxes, Let's all Succeed!

00:41It's true, if we use the right thing according to what we talked about,

00:45Ruben Cabantog once had a milestone as a vendor.

00:52This is where he hopes to feel what he's paying for his taxes.

01:27In 2023, 2.52 trillion pesos were collected by the BIR.

01:32In 2024, they were able to collect 2.85 trillion pesos.

01:39This is the highest collection in two decades.

01:43More than 300,000 establishments in the country visited and were verified by the BIR.

01:48257 million pesos were collected by the BIR through compliance checks.

01:5374,000 establishments registered.

01:56Currently, 5.7 million are registered business taxpayers.

02:00The taxes collected by us should be used to improve our quality of living,

02:05such as education, health services, and infrastructure.

02:08That's why Romel Poquita wishes that this will reach all of us,

02:12and not just the pockets of the government officials.

02:20We need to see that our taxes will be used for the benefit of the people,

02:36In the program of the BIR, the President is trying to convince people

02:42to avoid or violate the laws,

02:46not just the tax collection,

02:48because the implementation of the tax law will be more restrictive.
