00:04The iconic golfer took to X on Tuesday, sharing this picture of his mom and writing in a statement,

00:09It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Coltita Woods,

00:13passed away early this morning. My mom was a force of nature all her own. Her spirit was

00:19simply undeniable. She was quick with the needle and a laugh. She was my biggest fan,

00:24greatest supporter. Without her, none of my personal achievements would have been possible.

00:28She was loved by so many, but especially by her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie.

00:33Thank you all for your support, prayers, and privacy at this difficult time for me and my

00:38family. Love you, Mom. The golfer's mom was always supportive of her son, photographed among spectators

00:44plenty of times as he played. In 2022, Woods was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame, where

00:56sharing his parents' personal sacrifices. As I became of age, I was about 14, 15, I was going to

01:04start playing what is called the AGAGA, American Junior Golf Association. It was at that time in

01:08its infancy stages, but it was where all the top junior golf players were playing all around the

01:15country. I was there getting exposed to possible collegiate scholarships. College coaches were

01:22there to watch them play. Obviously, we didn't know that we were going to have enough money for

01:28me to go to college or top college or be recruited. So my family made a tough decision, and at the age

01:35of 14 and a half, we took out a second mortgage so I could go out and play the AGAGA tour.

01:45Mom stayed at home, Dad traveled, and we went and played. I played the AGAGA tour on our second

01:51mortgage. So without the sacrifices of Mom, who took me all to those junior golf tournaments,

02:04Dad, who's not here, but who instilled in me this work ethic

02:10to fight for what I believe in, chase after my dreams.
