00:00To avoid traffic in EDSA, the bus carousel was removed and congestion fee was asked for.

00:13This is what the barangay witness, Yvonne Marina, reported.

00:26Yesterday, she talked to Malacanang about how to solve this.

00:29One of the solutions was to remove the EDSA busway to avoid EDSA.

00:35The MMDA clarified that this will only be done if the capacity of MRT 3 is already high.

00:40The free lines will be made exclusive for high occupancy vehicles or for three passengers or more.

00:48The primary factor there, again I will repeat, is if the MRT can accommodate all passengers, including those who ride the bus carousel.

01:04Until that happens, the bus carousel will not be removed.

01:10We asked our online supporters if they are in favor of this.

01:14One of them said, don't remove the EDSA busway and instead, make it wider and wider.

01:20Another one commented, if the busway is removed, there will be more traffic because buses will go up and down.

01:28Another one agreed to make the road wider, like in other countries.

01:32Another one is looking at the congestion fee, which will be increased like the toll in EDSA every rush hour.

01:39But the President himself said that this might not be the right time.

01:43It can only be done if there is an alternative, if our transport is more efficient.

01:49One of our online supporters commented that this will not solve the traffic problem because the road will not be wider.

01:57Another one said, this will only make it harder for motorists.

02:01And for another one, the inner roads will be tighter if the EDSA is removed.

02:07According to the Department of Transportation, they are waiting for the result of the feasibility study on how to improve the EDSA busway.

02:14According to the DOTR, the EDSA busway is one of the most efficient public road transport system in Metro Manila.

02:21This is an important step for the progressive public transportation system.
