00:00We are still here at the North Avenue station of the EDSA bus carousel.
00:05And according to what our government is recommending,
00:09to reduce the heavy traffic flow here in EDSA,
00:12the EDSA bus carousel or the so-called EDSA bus lane should be removed.
00:19According to MMDA Chairman Romando Arte,
00:22he said that he talked with President Bongbong Marcos about the Comprehensive Traffic Management Plan
00:29where we discussed the possible solutions to the traffic here in Metro Manila
00:33and also in the nearby provinces.
00:35Arte made it clear that it will be possible when the capacity of the MRT improves.
00:41In March, the target is to start the rehabilitation of EDSA.
00:45And there was also a request from DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan
00:49who said that the timetable and the Preliminary Traffic Management Plan is already being done for that.
00:55Another thing that is being studied is the possible creation of a fee for the four-wheel vehicles that will pass through EDSA.
01:02DILG Secretary John V. Cremulia also said that the public will be encouraged to use public transportation.
01:12And at this point, we already know the reaction and the possible suggestions of our countrymen
01:21who often use the EDSA bus carousel or ride the bus or MRT.
01:27This is already included in the Government's plan to remove the EDSA bus lane.
01:37Hi, have you been waiting for a bus?
01:42Yes.
01:43What is your name?
01:44Loriel.
01:45How often do you ride the EDSA bus carousel?
01:51Actually, I ride it every day since this is where I go to school.
01:58So how much help do you get when you ride the EDSA bus carousel to school?
02:06It's a huge help since this is the most convenient transportation for me.
02:13If there is a station in front of my school, I just need to cross the street to get there.
02:26Ah, it's perfect for your school.
02:28Okay.
02:29Because the Government has a plan to remove the EDSA bus lane or EDSA bus carousel
02:35so that the traffic in EDSA will be reduced.
02:38Do you think the removal of the EDSA bus lane will help reduce the traffic in EDSA?
02:47I think it will help reduce the traffic but it won't help everyone.
02:57Since it's more convenient for people, especially for me as a student,
03:03I think the solution is to reduce the number of private cars instead of the bus carousel as a public transportation.
03:19How big of an effect will it have on you if the EDSA bus lane is removed?
03:25Of course, it will have a huge impact on me.
03:28Especially now that it's very difficult for me to get a transport.
03:34It will be difficult for me.
03:36If I get a transport in the commonwealth, there will be a lot of traffic.
03:41Alright. Thank you very much for your reaction and your suggestion.
03:46And I hope that the Government will consider this before they make any plans.
03:51Thank you very much, L'Oreal.
03:53That's the latest situation from my North Avenue station in EDSA.
03:58Back to you in the studio.
