00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. believes that the public should also be consulted
00:05regarding the plan to enter the government offices at 7 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon.
00:13Alvin Baltazar, Radyo Pilipinas, in Balitang Pambansang.
00:19It is important for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to get the pulse of the trans-acting public
00:24regarding the plan to enter the government offices at 7 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon.
00:31This is one of the ways to help the spread of traffic in Metro Manila
00:36by entering and returning earlier.
00:41In his briefing, MMDA Chairman Roman Artes stated that President Marcos said
00:46that not only other departments and those in the LGU should be consulted regarding the plan.
00:52That is why Artes said that they are the ones who need to study and consult
00:58where they will include the public who are doing transactions in different agencies and departments.
01:06In this way, according to MMDA Chief, it will be more clear that the data that is collected,
01:11used or examined, is being used in different sectors of society and is being shared by all groups.
01:20This is also pursuant to what our President said,
01:24that not only should we be the ones who are collecting the data,
01:30but also the trans-acting public.
01:33That is what we will do in the coming months.
01:38Chairman Artes pointed out that if the plan is implemented,
01:42there will be a lot of commuters who will be able to leave during peak hours of traffic
01:47which is also a big advantage for the public transport system.
01:51They will implement this in MMDA itself, according to Artes,
01:55and their personnel approved it.
01:58The reason is that they can go home earlier
02:01because they will not suffer the traffic, especially in the afternoon.
02:07Our employees like it more because they can go home earlier.
02:12Because they will not suffer the traffic, especially in the afternoon.
02:16Like before, they are already out before the traffic builds up at 5 o'clock.
02:21They are able to pass through the traffic and they can go home earlier.
02:27MMDA hopes that within a year,
02:30the 74 Adjusted Government Hours will be implemented for the previous governments.
02:35If the data they have is sufficient to prove that there is an improvement in traffic,
02:40especially in the major roads,
02:42and the implementation of the 74 Government Employees,
02:46they will recommend to President Marcos that this will be improved.
02:51For Balintang Pambansa, Alvin Baltazar of Radyo Pilipinas.
