School is officially back! This morning 60 thousand Tasmanian public-school students stepping back into classrooms around the state. The day has extra significance for two regional communities with new schools in Brighton and Legana opening their doors to students for the first time.

00:59At the other end of the state, the new Brighton High School has opened its doors for the first
01:03time to 122 Year 7's battling first day nerves.
01:09It's a mix of both, it's just really scary but it's also exciting.
01:13Yeah, it's really cool but I really miss primary school.
01:16With Hobart's outer suburbs continuing to grow rapidly, the school gives students and

01:23The community are the ones that have championed this school for their kids and the huge opportunity
01:27to have their young people as adolescents in the community.
