00:00We've been told in a statement from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service that a decision
00:04was taken on Friday to suspend its Deputy Chief Fire Officer. He's Stuart Foreshaw who
00:10joined the North Wales Service in 2022 after three decades as a firefighter in Cheshire
00:16and Greater Manchester. In her statement, the Chief Fire Officer for North Wales, Dawn
00:21Dox, said she'd taken the step as a precautionary measure while a full and fair investigation
00:28takes place. We understand it relates to what's been described as a historic social
00:33media post allegedly linked to Mr Foreshaw. We've not been given any details about the
00:38contents of that post or which platform it's said to have been posted on. The Chief Fire
00:44Officer went on to stress that the service remains committed to upholding the highest
00:49standards of professionalism and trust. She said the matter is being addressed with the
00:54seriousness it deserves. Now we know her deputy is responsible for equality, diversity
01:00and welfare at the fire service, so this actually comes at quite a difficult time for them because
01:04later this week they were due to publish a review into the culture of the fire service.
01:10That followed allegations of sexual harassment and bullying made to the Welsh Government
01:15last year, leading to the North Wales Service, along with Mid and West Wales Fire Service,
01:20due commissioning an independent report. In the meantime, the Chief Fire Officer for
01:25North Wales says there'll be no further comment on her deputy while the due process is followed.
