00:05In 2023, FMT Lifestyle featured this gifted boy who made it into the Malaysia Book of Records

00:11for identifying 40 car logos in under a minute.

00:15Now, at just 4 years old, Vikash Logendran is back in the spotlight,

00:20this time as the youngest finalist in the Asia Talent Search 2024.

00:25Competing against participants of all ages from various countries who showcased their talents

00:31from singing and dancing to performing magic tricks,

00:34Vikash emerged as one of the 13 finalists.

00:37After auditioning in May 2024, Vikash made Asia Talent Search history in December

00:43when he became the youngest ever to reach the finals,

00:46held at the Temple of Fine Arts in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.

00:50He's the youngest one in the Asia Talent Search.

00:53It's not about the winning or losing.

00:59He got to gain the experience.

01:01He doesn't have any fear.

01:03I get scared when I have to speak on stage.

01:07Vikash shouldn't have that fear.

01:10That's why we did this.

01:14Speaking to FMT Lifestyle at their home in Rawang,

01:17Rubini shared that preparing for the competition,

01:20spanning 10 months and 3 rounds, was no easy feat.

01:24In Round 1, Vikash impressed the judges by identifying car logos

01:29along with their countries of origin.

01:31In Round 2, he took on the role of a scientist,

01:35delivering a creative presentation on the first 20 elements of the periodic table and their groups.

01:41Now, he knows all 118 elements,

01:45an achievement that earned him a spot in the finale.

01:48Rubini shared that while Vikash was used to the technique of memorization,

01:53performing on stage was completely new to him.

01:56After Round 1, he attended speech and drama classes twice a week,

02:00with his mom making the long trips from Rawang to Kota Kamuning where the classes were held,

02:05all while balancing work commitments and the boys' schooling.

02:10All that was a sacrifice for him.

02:13I don't think there's anything like that for his achievement.

02:18Because he already makes us proud.

02:24We never ever force him.

02:26I think people out there are thinking,

02:28at this age, we are forcing Vikash to do everything,

02:31but actually we are not.

02:34We are able to do this only because of his effort and capability.

02:41So, in total, 80% of everything is his.

02:45Just 20% of it is ours.

02:48So, we want Vikash to explore everything.

02:51If he does it now,

02:53maybe in the future, it will be helpful for him.

03:00In the grand finale, Vikash took to the stage as the little curious explorer,

03:05sharing unique facts about Malaysia.

03:07Using props, he highlighted the heritage of states like Penang, Malacca, Sarawak,

03:12and Malaysia's capital city, Kuala Lumpur,

03:14reflecting his pride in the nation's diversity.

03:18While Vikash didn't take home the win,

03:20the family couldn't be prouder of how far he has come.

03:24Today, Vikash keeps honing his skills,

03:27consistently learning and impressing those around him.

03:30His latest talent?

03:31Identifying countries by their national emblems.

03:37There's no stopping this young boy,
