00:00The use of electronic monitoring as a bail condition is something that is implemented
00:07by the courts, so the independent judiciary. It's obviously concerning that this company,
00:13BailSafe, has failed to notify state authorities of recent developments, but I think what is also
00:22concerning is the use of companies like BailSafe, private companies, in and for these purposes.
00:30I am going to do something about that. We are going to put a stop to the use of these companies
00:36in these circumstances, and I have asked my department for urgent advice on this,
00:42and I'll have more to say shortly. In relation to people on BailSafe, I can confirm
00:49that Victoria Police and the Office of Public Prosecution are working together to identify those people.
