Global warming fight needs to be 'faster,' warns UN climate chief

UN's climate chief Simon Stiell, in a speech at a university in Brazil's capital, says global warming is 'currently on course for around three degrees, which is still dangerously high.' The former Grenadan environment minister said the world was headed "in the right direction, we just have to implement more and faster.'

00:00We're currently on course for around three degrees, which is still dangerously high.
00:07But thankfully, we've already entered a new era.
00:13And let's be clear, climate finance is not, is not charity.
00:21Just take rising food prices, which have the fingerprints of climate-driven droughts, floods
00:28and wildfires all over them.
00:31Most of all, climate finance saves lives.
00:36Imagine, we're already headed in the right direction.
00:40We just have to implement and implement more and implement faster.
00:47A country may step back, but others are already stepping into their place to seize that opportunity
00:56and to reap the massive rewards, stronger economic growth, more jobs, less pollution
01:04and far lower health costs and more secure and affordable energy.
