00:00The Philippine National Police will submit revised guidelines for the implementation of the Revitalized Oplan Katok.

00:19The Philippine National Police will continue to discuss the implementation of the Revitalized Oplan Katok.

00:29PNP Spokesperson, Police Brigadier General Gene Fajardo said that they have already submitted the current guidelines

00:36for the implementation of the Revitalized Oplan Katok.

00:42This is after the re-election of the Philippine National Police because it is possible for the use of politicians

00:48to intimidate the opposing candidates and become voters in this election.

00:53Under the Oplan Katok, the police are visiting the gun owners in their homes

00:58to ask them to renew their licenses or to give up their weapons that are already expired.

01:05Being one of the deputized agencies, PNP will follow the regulations and the authority of Comileg over the PNP.

01:16Again, we always say that we just have to find a common ground

01:20so that we can meet the requirements of Comileg with respect to the assurance

01:25given by PNP that the Revitalized Katok will not be abused.

01:30Despite the arguments, PNP insisted that the Oplan Katok will continue.

01:35It is proven that since the beginning of 2025,

01:38more than 800 gun owners have renewed their licenses and weapons after being visited by the police.

01:46It is proven that the program is effective, especially the uniformed police,

01:50who remind their obligation to ensure that the owners of the weapons have legal documents

01:57Because the Oplan Katok is carrying out a legitimate operation,

02:01it is not just doing unauthorized activities.

02:05The Oplan Katok is operating from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

02:12Again, PNP insisted that they will not use the Oplan Katok to influence any group or politician.

02:20We will not apply for a search warrant because the incumbent, local chief executives,

02:28and even the candidates who have enemies were ordered to do so.

02:32That will not happen. We have enough safeguards.
