00:00Grenfell Tower is being demolished this summer, the government have finally confirmed.

00:09In 2017, a tragic fire took place in this tower block, which claimed the lives of 72

00:16people.

00:17Citing safety concerns, the government have said they will begin taking the tower down

00:22sensitively over a two-year period.

00:25My name is Ramiro Urbano, my daughter Jessica died in the tower.

00:33I do personally agree, because this is a suicide for the residents and for everyone that lives

00:43around here, that take their kids to school, and it's a reminder.

00:50As a parent, I do agree with the decision that the tower is going to come down.

00:58I did used to live there, I didn't think it was actually going to happen, but I don't

01:02think they should.

01:03I think it should be a memory for how badly they handled the situation and the aftermath

01:10of it, and I don't think people should forget.

01:15Changes will not take place until after the 8th anniversary this summer.

01:19A memorial will be built close to the tower to commemorate those lost in the tragic fire.
