00:00I would like to congratulate you on your performance on September 5th, and today you are honoree.
00:09How does this award mean to you?
00:13You know, this is a group of people that say they want to watch grown-up films, and according
00:17to my daughter, I've never made a film that's not a grown-up film, because she can't watch
00:21any of them.
00:22So I want to get tight with these people, so they come see my movies.
00:27I guess I'm one of them.
00:29What's next for you?
00:32I'm going to be doing Mia Hansen Love, French filmmaker.
00:36I'm doing a film with Mia Wasikowska in France this summer, and I'm going to do a little
00:46almost cameo in a comedy, but I just decided to do it yesterday, so I probably can't talk
00:50about it.
00:51Speaking of September 5th, why do you think it was important to tell this story again?
00:58Well, I think we live in a time where journalism is really on the ropes, and we're all trying
01:03to figure out where to get the story, where to get the news, and we have as many versions
01:07of the news as we have people holding iPhones on this planet.
01:11So this went back to a time that was, I think, a seminal moment, where a live camera was
01:16put onto an event that was just happening right before our very eyes, where anything
01:24could happen.
01:26And they asked a lot of the same questions that should be asked today.
01:29There have been many more Pandora's boxes that have been opened since then, but it was
01:34a really important moment.
01:36Thank you so much.
01:37Enjoy tonight.
01:38Yeah, yeah.
01:39Bye, Peter.
