00:49And Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is turning it on for the Freeride World Tour.
00:55It is an absolutely spectacular morning.
00:58Stacked up and ready to go here on the Ozone Face.
01:02My name is Derek Foose and I am here with Amy Ingebretson.
01:05And we are, we're ready.
01:08It's a little chilly Amy, but...
01:09It's cold, but we're ready.
01:11We're going to be kept warm by all the excitement.
01:13I'm so stoked to be here.
01:15And yeah, just watch the show today.
01:17It seems like we've got a perfect comp day ahead of us.
01:20Yeah, let's take a look at the Ozone Face.
01:23Digging into the GoPro face preview.
01:25The top elevation of this slope is 2,500 meters.
01:29That's where start 1 is.
01:30Start 2 will be a few, I think about 50 meters down from that.
01:34The whole face is an average of 37 degrees steep.
01:37So a little steeper in spots, a little flatter in spots.
01:39The vertical drop is about 324 meters of vertical free riding.
01:44And we're kind of working with two main zones.
01:46We have the riders left, which is very fall line, aggressive, free riding.
01:50And then we have riders right, kind of the no zone, freestyle, playful area.
01:54We've seen the likes of Craig Murray, Marcus Eider go down over there.
01:57And we can't forget the famous Rodney Pyramid, the pyramid feature.
02:01We're going to have our eyes on that today for sure.
02:03I'm interested to see how that goes.
02:05I mean, these are some of the best free riders on the planet.
02:07So if anybody can do it, this is who it is.
02:10Snowboard women kicking things off for us today.

02:20Definitely want to drop in first on this venue today.

02:38But that was fun to see right out of the gates.

02:49The snow on this side of the face looks absolutely glorious in that early morning light.

02:57Off that air, like you said, a little bobble, but recovered quickly.

03:06And popping off that cornice, catching a grab.
03:12Full fall line approach and digging that heel side edge in.

03:19Going big over that kind of peppery cliff.
03:36There are still some challengers coming for sure.
03:42Speaking of challengers, this is a huge one.
03:45This is the reigning freeride world champion.

26:07Every time he drops out of the Starrcade, you just hold your breath and cross your fingers
26:12because he packs every run with features.
26:15Big backflip, going huge, putting it right to his feet.
26:22And we saw this one, Cork 7, Marcus Gogan lands it.

26:29So on the same line as Abel Moga with a 90 point score, Marcus Gogan, blink and you missed

26:38That was for the fans in the crowd.
