Unusual sighting of humpback anglerfish near Tenerife coast

Marine biologists observed a humpback anglerfish near the coast of Tenerife, a very unusual sighting, as this kind of fish lives between 200 and 2000 meters deep in tropical and subtropical seas. The reason for its presence in the surface is ‘uncertain,’ according to the NGO that made the sighting. Some hypotheses could be that it was sick, that it was following an updraft or that it was fleeing from a predator.
