Ed Sheeran’s India tour took an unexpected turn when his impromptu street performance in Bengaluru was abruptly halted by the police. The British singer, who is in the country for his +-=÷x Tour (The Mathematics Tour), decided to surprise fans with an acoustic session on Church Street ahead of his concert at NICE Grounds on February 9. However, the performance was cut short when a police officer intervened, reportedly due to a lack of prior permission. Addressing the incident, Sheeran clarified, “We had permission to busk, btw, hence us playing in that exact spot-it was planned out before. It wasn’t just us randomly turning up.” A viral video shows the moment he started singing an unplugged version of Shape of You, only for the officer to step in and disconnect the speakers, leaving the crowd stunned.
