00:00Let's take a look at what happened at the opening of the 2025 National Wushu Coaching Seminar yesterday

00:07at Ninoy Aquino Stadium of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.

00:18The first day of the 5-day event of the 2025 National Wushu Coaching Seminar

00:24organized by Wushu Federation Philippines

00:26was held yesterday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.

00:31More than 50 participants from various local government units

00:36participated in the activities prepared by Wushu Federation for them.

00:40Some participants were happy to participate in such events

00:44that will not only help them, but also other aspiring national coaches.

00:50We are very thankful to Wushu Federation

00:53because we were given the opportunity to have another training.

00:58Actually, the last seminar was in 2016,

01:01but we are very grateful because this time, they gave us another national seminar.

01:08For us, it's a great honor that we were given the chance to participate in this seminar

01:15because not everyone is given the chance

01:17and not everyone is given the support to join in this kind of seminar.

01:22So, we are very blessed, first of all.

01:24And then, it can help our athletes.

01:27This kind of event is part of Wushu's grassroots program in the country

01:33to build homegrown coaches

01:35that they can use to scout athletes with potential to be part of the national team one day.

01:41Some of the participants who made it to Day 1

01:44are 5-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Agatha Wong

01:48and other national athletes who were one of the teachers in the seminar.

01:53Well, our role right now is also to showcase the right skills, the right rules

01:59because it's not just the coaches who can do it alone.

02:02So, of course, we also have to set a good example for the coaches as well.

02:06And I think you will notice that a lot of the coaches also take videos

02:11because it's really hard to just listen.

02:13They have to visualize it and they also have to apply it in real life.

02:16So, later this afternoon, in our second session for the first day,

02:20we're going to be actually doing Wushu.

02:22So, we will be teaching the coaches, you know, the proper techniques

02:25and then also correcting them on their stances and form.

02:28The National Wushu Coaching Seminar is held every two years in Wushu, Philippines.

02:33But it was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.

02:43This is the first, on my term as president,

02:50because I really want more coaches to develop

02:56because they are the ones who will help us,

02:59most especially for the grassroots development program.

03:02And we have a lot of calendars for our grassroots program

03:10that we need coaches.

03:13Lectures and other activities of the Wushu Coaching Seminar will continue tomorrow

03:17until Friday in the same venue in Manila.
