00:00The challenges for me is just make sure that I get out there and I make people, you know,
00:12have fun.
00:13You know, have smile on their faces and enjoy what they're experiencing.
00:18Then at the end of the night, see them go crazy, nuts, madness.
00:22Very political sometimes.
00:24To be successful in order to get everything you need to get in terms of immediate starts
00:28when you're just trying to get gigs around town.
00:31I mean, you have to be in the know circuit.
00:33You have to know some of the club owners.
00:34You got to know, I mean, from on up to when you make a record and you're trying to get
00:38your record out there.
00:39And you have to always try and bring the attention to your project and yourself and you're always,
00:44you know, trying to get into the circle, the circle of people who are already there.
00:48You have to persevere.
00:49You have to persevere through a lot of these things and, you know, you have to do it smart.
00:53You have to understand your craft and you have to have practiced successes at the intersection
00:57of opportunity and luck.
01:00There's a lot of, you know, acts like hip-hop acts, jazz acts, R&B acts, rock and roll acts.
01:09So there's, Dubai is a city of, it seems like, of many likes, likes of music, you know, from
01:15all over the world and it's just like any other city, Paris, London, New York, Berlin.
01:24What's going on with this festival as it continues to build every year, then I'd say it's on
01:29the upswing.
01:30I'd say this is becoming a place to be for a lot of musicians, established and otherwise.
01:36And as more people come, you know, certainly this is, you know, it's a trendy city.
01:40I see it's a trendy city and people are, you know, there's younger people here.
01:45There's a man on the radio.
01:49Every night from six till ten.
01:54He plays my favorite songs.
01:58But nine o'clock is when...
