00:00Sarees mean a lot to me because my mother always wore a saree and she looked fabulous
00:24in it.
00:25And I'm a Bengali.
00:26Most Bengali women are obsessed with sarees.
00:28I have a very emotional attachment towards sarees, that's why.
00:31Because I've grown up seeing women in my family wearing sarees.
00:35Right now, I feel sarees have really evolved.
00:38They used to be literally a piece of cloth that was woven with different threads.
00:43But over the years, we have seen how sarees have evolved.
00:46Now we have embroidery, we have net sarees, we have two-piece sarees, we have sarees that
00:52are with different kinds of borders, with different kinds of printing.
00:56Digital print is very much in fashion too.
00:59So it has really evolved over so many years and I think we've all lapped it up.
01:04The evolution has been quite nice and quite steady and I think we've lapped it up because
01:08we all Indian women love to wear sarees.
01:11I think we look our best in sarees and it's very sensual, very, very sensuous too.
01:15Our men like to see their wives in Indian sarees.
01:18We always waited for something modern, something new to come in the market and we grabbed it.
01:22So the evolution has been welcomed by all of us.
