00:12The Ministry of Interior will soon offer services via smartphones to renew passports, apply
00:17for visits and entry visas, among other services. Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasr Al-Raisi, Director-General
00:24of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, said the Ministry has launched 169 electronic
00:29services through its website and 30 smart services via mobile phones.
00:34Egyptians vote today on an amended constitution that army-backed authorities bill as a vital
00:39step towards stability. Islamist opponents, however, have denounced the vote as an attempt
00:45to legitimise a military coup.
00:47Thousands of police and soldiers have been deployed across the nation amid fears the
00:51rising violence in the run-up to the referendum could disrupt balloting.
00:56Two German diplomats survived an attack yesterday while on a visit in the town of Awamyeh in
01:01eastern Saudi Arabia. The Saudi press agency reported that the diplomat's vehicle was
01:06burnt in the attack.
01:08Rahul Gandhi said today he was open to leading India's ruling Congress party into elections
01:13this year. The statement was the strongest hint yet that Gandhi is ready to be named
01:18as prime ministerial candidate.
01:20In an interview, he indicated he was ready to bow to pressure within his party to project
01:25him formally as a leader in weighting.
01:28After taking a beating last year, gold will have a decent year in 2014, with the prices
01:33forecast to reach the $1,400 level an ounce, according to experts. Last year was considered
01:39the worst period for the precious metal, which lost nearly 30 per cent of its value.
