00:00So Meera asked me, I said yeah, absolutely I would like to play. It's a very important
00:08role but it's a very tiny role. Well, my father is my inspiration for this role because my
00:15father was like that. He would teach me lessons. Unlike Pai, father wasn't there for Pai to
00:21tell him that he learned a lot but I managed to tell him that before he passed away. I
00:27just feel a lot of gratitude for everything that I had gone through with this film. Meeting
00:33Ang, working with great actors, Suraj, Irfan, Tabu and this amazing, amazing movie which
00:43has come out and yeah, as I was saying to other people as well that there's so many
00:49actors in the world, you know, Indian actors who is of my age and why me, why not them?
00:57So sometime universe conspire for you and you have to accept it with grace and gratitude.
01:02Now only you could feel the heat of the movie that it's such a big movie. Now only I actually
01:06realized that I'm a part of this big movie and it feels great. My role was mostly about
01:11dancing, a very shy, composed role. So dances are basically like that. So that way I didn't
01:18have to worry about it. Being with Ang Lee, you don't have to worry about anything because
01:23he makes sure he gets what he wants and he's very, he says in a manner that you know, you
01:29will want to give your full percent and I think he just guided me, I just went with him.
01:34I think India has one of the biggest film industries in the world. I don't think I'm
01:40representing anything. I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, you know, working on this movie.
01:44I represent pride to some extent. People seem very excited. You know, I was really nervous
01:49about, because India is my home, I was really wanting people to like it in India. I was
01:54hoping that they'd get something out of it, that they'd see it more than as just a movie.
01:58Very honestly, so many people worked so hard for this. So hard. And now to see people appreciating
02:03it, it's brilliant. Right now for me, my life is this movie. It has been for three years
02:09almost. So right now I'm just focused on this and at the same time focusing on college.
02:13There's a scene where Pai watches his family die, which is an underwater sequence. That
02:18was challenging. That was like my personal challenge to me because, you know, I started
02:24training for that right really early in the beginning. Learned how to swim, start holding
02:28my breath. And you're working towards this for like four months, you're just every day,
02:32you're working towards that one shot. And so one and a half minutes you have to be underwater
02:36and you have to forget that you're actually holding your breath and swimming and try to
02:40concentrate on the fact that your family is drowning in front of you. And it's beautiful,
02:45which is hard to imagine, but getting that done was one of the bigger challenges.
