00:00Every time I come here, it feels like I'm also an OFW because, of course, I leave my
00:07children at home, leave my husband there.
00:10So when I come here, I get very excited to perform for the OFWs.
00:13That is definitely something we have in common.
00:15And then, of course, the way the audience reacts from the airport to wherever it is
00:22that we go or perform, the reception is always warm.
00:25That's why I always come back here.
00:26The first time I was here, I was shooting for a TV series called Acero.
00:33Back then, I already thought to myself, I wanted to come back as a singer.
00:37So now I'm really, really excited that I am back as a singer here, as a performer.
00:43And I'm eager to perform for all of the Filipinos here.
00:46Janu and I have always been the team.
00:49He's the King of Soul, I'm the Queen of Soul, supposedly.
00:52But we haven't done a lot of shows lately, except for the TV show that we do every Sunday.
00:58So I definitely am looking forward to seeing Janu as well perform because he's really funny
01:03and tremendous talent.
01:05We're going to be singing our duets, we're going to be doing pop and R&B and soul music.
01:11It's been a while, but definitely people can look forward to something funny and dramatic
01:19and uplifting during the show.
01:22As performers, I think our voices blend well together, which is not easy to do.
01:27Not every singer's voice can complement any other singer.
01:31So we're very lucky that we sound good together.
01:33Aside from that, we're really, really good friends.
01:36We've been friends for a long time now.
01:38You know, I sometimes wonder, when will I ever celebrate my nth year in the business?
01:44But it feels like there's not much for me to celebrate yet because it feels like it's
01:49an ongoing process of learning and growing.
01:52And I feel like the music that I do, because I do a lot of cover tunes that are also endless
01:59and timeless, maybe that's what keeps me in the business.
02:03And so the fact that I also do a Sunday show and learn new songs and still try to keep
02:09up with the times, maybe that's why I'm still in the picture and in the music scene.
02:16I'm not afraid to learn, I'm not afraid to experiment, I'm not afraid to really do all
02:21kinds of music, but I think in the end of all of this, I can proudly say that maybe
02:29I don't sound like everybody else.
02:31That's why I'm still in the middle of the whole showbiz thing.
02:35Because if I did sound and look and gave what everybody else gave, then I'll be put on the
02:42side because there are a lot of new and great talents out there.
02:46Filipinos are just really talented, so I also thank God for that.
02:53Maybe I'm just blessed with whatever it is that I have.
02:55I'm not the prettiest, I'm not the lightest person in the country, which of course you
02:59know how it is over there, but with a lot of prayers, I think I'm being just put in
03:05the place where I'm at because of Him.
03:07First of all, maintain your status, you have to take care of yourself, your name, constant
03:12learning, you have to develop yourself, improve yourself.
03:16I watch myself on TV or on film, and I criticize myself.
03:21I try to develop what I can.
03:42Hello to everyone watching GNTV, happy National Day, and I'm very happy to be here in Dubai.
