00:00In front of the cheapest price of rice under the Rice for All program,

00:04the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Trade and Industry inspected their family.

00:10If the maximum SRP for imported rice is followed,

00:23Angelique, a joint inspection was conducted by the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Trade and Industry

00:28here in the Commonwealth Market earlier.

00:30The result of the joint inspection was positive.

00:35The Commonwealth Market is following the maximum suggested retail price of 5% broken imported rice

00:41based on the joint inspection earlier.

00:44Well, what we saw today is that the rice is following the MSRP.

00:49There are 55, 54, 45, 42, 40.

00:57So, that's a good signal.

01:00While more than 25 LGUs gave interest to the DA to buy and sell NFA rice

01:07after the declaration of the National Food Security Emergency on rice last week.

01:12One of them is Quezon City LGU,

01:15which plans to direct NFA rice LGU retailers

01:18to avoid going to the middlemen of NFA rice.

01:22Aside from rice, the price of tomatoes is also decreasing,

01:25which can only be bought for P30 per kilo in the Commonwealth Market.

01:29The DTI will strictly monitor and enforce the prices

01:33that the DA gave that should be enforced on rice.

01:36The price of chicken is also decreasing to P130 per kilo

01:40from P180 in December.

01:43The retail price of onions is at P170,

01:46so the DA is importing 4,000 tons of onions

01:50to stop the price of onions from going up.

01:53The harvest season is about to start,

01:55and the number of local supplies of onions could increase again in March.
