00:32We have to work hard
00:34to make sure
00:36that this movement
00:38is a good investment
00:40for our nation.
00:42The day itself
00:44is associated
00:46not just with the creation
00:48of a faith but also
00:50with the values that it represents
00:52of courage, of valor,
00:54of sacrifice,
00:56of that spirit of community
00:58that brings everybody together.
01:00So, it's really wonderful to see
01:02that this
01:04great institution of the Gurudwara
01:06that has been created in Dubai
01:08attracts
01:10the
01:12large groups of Indians
01:14not just from the Sikh community
01:16but others as well.
01:18So, my compliments to
01:20Mr. and Mrs. Kandhari
01:22and to all the patrons of the Gurudwara
01:24and of course the hundreds of
01:26volunteers who selflessly
01:28work and make an event like
01:30this, an occasion like this
01:32so memorable for everybody.
01:34For a diaspora, for people living outside
01:36their own country, it is always
01:38a special thing to be able to
01:40celebrate your big days, your festive
01:42occasions.
01:44So, that's why you see
01:46that people coming from labor camps,
01:48people coming from wealthy families,
01:50people coming here
01:52in humble workers'
01:54buses and those coming in their
01:56luxury vehicles.
01:58I saw all of them as I was approaching
02:00the Gurudwara.
02:02You know, it's
02:04at one level a tribute
02:06to the
02:08spirit of tolerance that the
02:10leadership of this great country
02:12has put in place.
02:18Well,
02:20you have, I guess, close to
02:2250,000 members of the community
02:24who've arrived here.
02:26They come, they
02:28pay obeisance to the holy book
02:30which is the Guru and the guide.
02:32They sit and listen
02:34for some time to the
02:36verses from the book or
02:38to hymns that are being
02:40sung.
02:50What is truly remarkable
02:52is that each one of these
02:5450,000 visitors
02:56would be partaking
02:58in the langar, in the communal
03:00kitchen. On behalf of the Sikh
03:02community of UAE,
03:04I'm very grateful to His Highness
03:06Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Muqtum,
03:08the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE
03:10and the ruler of Dubai
03:12for giving us this land free
03:14to build the land.
03:16We are very grateful to
03:18him for giving us this land free
03:20to build the temple in Dubai.
03:22This Gurdwara is now 6 years old
03:24and over 6 years we have
03:26served 5 million meals
03:28to the worshippers.
