00:00Inca, the patron saint of the CGL, celebrates his 80th birthday.
00:09It was February 11, 1945, when Inca was born to defend and promote universal rights
00:16sanctioned by the Constitution.
00:18It is certainly an extremely important event.
00:22Eighty years is an important milestone, not only in people's lives,
00:27but even more so in the life of an organization like ours.
00:32And so the opportunity was to substantially review our roots,
00:39analyze the present and, above all, analyze the prospect and the future.
00:44In Italy and abroad, Inca means solidarity and assistance for citizens
00:49for the protection of their rights.
00:52The strong point today, in a country that has many difficulties,
00:56in a country where the work is poor, where citizens suffer a lot of criticism,
01:03starting from poverty, protection, from our point of view, remains central.
01:09A protection that is obviously measured daily with the choices of politics,
01:15and we have also thought about this.
01:17Obviously, we are not satisfied with the measures introduced by the government,
01:21because, in any case, the perimeter of protection is substantially narrowed
01:26day after day, more and more.
01:28New challenges and new goals are now opening up for the Patronato.
01:32A work of prospect, of which we have become protagonists in the last period,
01:36is to focus on local welfare, on the growing demand for local welfare.
01:43This, of course, has led us to relate to the Conference of Regions,
01:49with the ANCI.
01:50Our goal is to make this extraordinary network available
01:55in a territory that, especially in the last period, has difficulties.
02:00There are more than 4,000 so-called marginal municipalities,
02:05that suffer from marginality.
02:084,000 municipalities for 60% of the territory,
02:12for about a quarter of Italian citizens.
02:15There, probably, there are no post offices,
02:18there is no health care, there are no citizenship services,
02:24but maybe there is a Patronato headquarters.
02:26We would like to make this network, this value available
02:30in a collaboration and in a partnership with regions and municipalities.
02:36This is the goal we also set ourselves,
02:39to look at the future with confidence and active activity.
