00:00A very good morning to all of you. I am here with Gulf News and I just want to
00:09share one of a very recent incident that happened to me two weeks ago on 13th of
00:21April 2019. We had a planned activity to go to Jabal Jais along with my
00:31colleagues and my friends and perform the zipline and everything went really
00:36great. We enjoyed the place, we enjoyed the zipline experience. It was one of the
00:41best experiences ever. We completed the entire activity and by the time it was
00:48afternoon we started moving back. I was driving alone in my car and I
00:58started from the top of the parking area on the top of Jabal Jais.
01:07I started from there and incidentally it started raining heavily and but still I
01:13was driving slow and everything was fine until I came and reached the Jabal Jais
01:21parking deck number 7. Just adjacent to this area what happened the rain was
01:33falling heavily due to which the road became flooded and I was driving on the
01:41main road and just while I was driving my car the water, the depth of the
01:49water became so high that my car got swept away from the road inside the
01:57valley. The valley which was going deep downwards and my car was completely out
02:05of control. It's a very strong car, it's Honda Civic saloon car but then when the
02:11water pushed my car into the valley it was completely out of control and I was
02:17just sitting and waiting for something to happen because the valley was
02:24sweeping my car away, the flood water was sweeping the car away and the flood
02:31water was all gathering inside my car and the water was up to here and this is
02:38the point when I really decided and you know I mean I recognized that it's
02:45time for me to go because there is no way I could escape death now. I was
02:51trying to open the door it was completely jammed because of the flow
02:54of the water and then lastly what I tried to do I picked up my mobile and I
03:02wanted to call my wife and say some last words during that time but unfortunately
03:08the mobile was gone because there was no signal and the touch was not working as
03:12well because of all the water which came into my car. So when the water came up
03:19to this height I closed my eyes and I kept on saying Kalma Shahadat and I
03:26kept on saying repeatedly because I knew that when I will open my eyes I will not
03:31be in this world I will definitely be in the next world. I kept on saying
03:35Ashadu alla ilaha illallahu wa ashadu anna muhammadan abduhu wa rasooluhu
03:40repeatedly repeatedly so this really you know made my heart a bit relaxed and I
03:47was not fearing the death anymore because I knew that this is the time and
03:53there is no way I can escape death so I kept on waiting. Suddenly what happened
03:58while the car was sweeping away during this time incidentally I got a huge blow
04:06I mean I don't know what happened from outside the car I had a huge blow I was
04:11seat belted on my driver's seat that I was thrown from this seat to the
04:17passenger seat and then miraculously the car stopped moving and it was stable on
04:25some area and when I opened my eyes I was on the passenger seat and water was
04:31still coming flowing from towards the car but the car broke down and there was
04:38no water inside the car I could breathe easily now but I knew that this will
04:44continue for just a few more moments because the weight of the car is so high
04:49and I was sitting inside that it will not last for long so I just kept on
04:54waiting for death to come but for five to ten minutes and nothing happened so
04:58that was the time when I thought that let me try to save myself. The door was
05:04completely jammed there was no way I could go out so what I did I there was
05:10some iron bar from the car which were blocking the window of my passenger seat
05:17so I took out my hands and broke those iron bar threw them away and I made an
05:24small you know area from the window of my passenger seat so that I could I
05:30could try to go out probably but going out was another risk because the water
05:37was still flowing from that place so I didn't straightaway jumped on the water
05:41because I would have flown down and you know maybe you know that was it what I
05:47did I took out my right leg and my right hand and stood firm on one of the
05:54rocks which were just adjacent to my car and the same thing and the same thing I
05:58did to my left leg and my left hand as well I placed it on a second rock
06:05and stood there for some time and saw that just opposite the flood water the
06:11flow of the flood water there is a safe area so my last attempt was supposed to
06:16be a jump and if at all there was any miscalculation if I would have you know
06:21jumped not to the safe area and jumped on the flood water again you know death
06:28was waiting for me because the water was in such a speed that it could you know
06:32just flow away a human being car anything within few seconds down towards
06:37the valley so I just stood there for some time and made some calculations and
06:45then jumped off luckily I crossed the flood water and jumped on the safe area
06:53Alhamdulillah that safe area was the rocks once I jumped there I knew that I
06:59am safe now I crossed the rocks moved up again I knew I have hurt my knee badly
07:07but I knew that it was not a fracture but something is there something is
07:12there probably but the rest of the body was completely fine I just have small
07:17bruise here and that was it it was kind of a miracle I said all my hands my
07:23fingers my legs everything is fine I'm perfectly all right I just moved up on
07:29the road and then one of my colleague who was still there drove by his name is
07:36Umar from my from my team he helped me out he kept me in his car for the full
07:42night because police and ambulance could not reach there because of the flood and
07:45the rain and he made sure that the next morning by 6 o'clock a.m. he drove me to
07:51the safe place to the ambulance from the ambulance I was given the first aid and
07:56then Ras Al Khaimah Army sent a helicopter and in the in the helicopter
08:05I was lifted to safe hospital in Ras Al Khaimah where they conducted the CT scan
08:10for my head neck everywhere and Alhamdulillah everything was fine and
08:15from there I was transported to Sakkar Hospital where again all my scans were
08:24repeated but I had no fracture only an MRI scan revealed a torn ligament on my
08:33right knee and for this the orthopedic surgeon there Dr. Abadal Bari he
08:40performed a very good and very successful knee surgery on my right
08:46knee and I am just on cast for probably totally three weeks and inshallah by
08:54within three weeks the cast will be removed and hopefully I will be able to
08:57walk so it was just a kind of miracle and a kind of God help me and he helped
09:04me that my car was stable on one of the area but the next part was all on my own
09:11so I just want to send a message to everyone whatever happens in your life
09:17please don't lose hope almighty power is there but then he will not lift you up
09:22he will just show you the way and you have to follow the way you have to be
09:26courage you have to be brave you have to make sure that you know you don't lose
09:31hope until the very end and everything will be fine and you will be safe so
09:36that's all for today thank you so much for listening to my experience and all
09:41the best to all the drivers all the best to all the families I'm really lucky
09:45that I'm speaking to you otherwise you know probably I would not be alive by
09:50today if that miracle would not have happened thank you so much Gulf News
