00:1248 fun facts about the UAE for the 48th National Day. Fun fact number one, let's kick it off with

00:20Ajman. Ajman is actually the smallest emirate in the UAE. Did you also know that Dubai is home to

00:26the world's first seven-star hotel ever, which is the Burj Al Arab. The Dubai Aquarium at the

00:31Dubai Mall is the largest indoor suspended aquarium in the world and it has the biggest

00:37collection of tiger sharks in one place ever. Mazdar City in Abu Dhabi is the world's first

00:43city that is completely zero carbon, zero waste and car free. The UAE population actually has

00:50200 different nationalities and 80% of the UAE's population are expats. Dubai is home to four

00:57man-made islands and these include the Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jabal Ali, the Daraa Islands and the World

01:03Islands. Abu Dhabi is actually the largest emirate in the UAE. It takes up about 87% of the entire

01:10space. Ferrari actually owns the largest indoor theme park in the UAE and it's located in Abu Dhabi

01:17and they have the world's fastest roller coaster which is called the Rosso and it goes from zero

01:21to 150 in like five seconds. Out of all of the seven emirates, Umm al-Khawain is actually the

01:27least populated one. The UAE has a very high literacy rate of 93%. Ras al-Khaimah is actually

01:34the most fertile emirate in the UAE as it receives the most rainfall out of all of the emirates.

01:41The UAE is actually the first country in the world to ever have a minister for artificial

01:46intelligence. Moving on to fact number 13. The UAE actually holds 190 Guinness world records.

01:54Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport is in fact the largest terminal in the world. It's no

02:00surprise that the Burj Khalifa is the tallest tower in the world. It is 828 meters and is the equivalent

02:07of three Eiffel Towers stacked on top of each other. Dubai is often known as the city of gold

02:12and that's because it has one of the largest gold markets in the entire world right in the

02:18heart of old Dubai. You can even get your gold through gold ATM dispensers. Fun fact about Abu

02:24Dhabi, it is home to a falcon hospital. Every year they examine about 11,000 falcons and heal them

02:30back to health. Dubai police are one of the few police forces in the world that have access to

02:36some insane supercars like Ferraris, Bugattis, Lamborghinis, anything you can imagine really.

02:42They've got that and more. Prior to the 1930s, the UAE's main source of income was actually

02:48pearling. Camels are very loved creatures here in the UAE. You can actually drink camel milk and eat

02:55camel milk chocolate. If you're also feeling adventurous, you could even try a camel meat

03:00burger. These can be sold in the UAE at specific places. It tastes just like lean beef with a hint

03:06of chicken. In 2020, Dubai will play host to the world's biggest expo. This expo 2020 Dubai is

03:13expected to host 25 million visitors. That means expo will be seeing 150,000 visits a day. Dubai is

03:21home to the world's most expensive cupcake. It is made with 24 karat gold dust and will set you back

03:283,700 dirhams. Speaking of gold, Dubai dusts 24 karat gold on almost anything. Burgers, cappuccinos,

03:37and even ice cream. Despite everyone's love for camels and falcons here, the UAE's national animal

03:43is actually the Arabian oryx. Did you know that the UAE is home to 10 commercial airports? But the

03:49busiest one and most popular is obviously Dubai International. In the UAE, the weekdays actually

03:56start on a Sunday, so your weekends are Friday and Saturday. When you go on the Dubai Metro, don't

04:01be surprised that there is no driver. The Dubai Metro is completely automated and also completely

04:07totally safe. Speaking of safety, the UAE is one of the safest countries in the world with a very,

04:12very low crime rate. Perfect place to raise a family. Politically, the UAE is made up of a

04:18federation of seven different emirates. Countries bordering the UAE are Oman and Saudi Arabia. The

04:24rest is all water. Dubai is home to the largest mall in the world, and that's the Dubai Mall. It

04:31houses 1,200 shops, an underwater zoo, and an ice rink. Even though the official religion of the UAE

04:38is Islam, it is home to 40 churches, cathedrals, and also many other places of worship. The UAE

04:45has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world. You can go skiing down a two-kilometer

04:51snow slope right here in the UAE at Mall of the Emirates Ski Dubai. Arabic is the official

04:56language of the UAE. Other commonly spoken ones are English, Farsi, Hindi, and Urdu. Instead of

05:02one ruling family for the country, the UAE has seven different ruling families for each different

05:08emirate. The UAE governmental system is known as a constitutional monarchy. Did you know that the UAE

05:15has no permanent rivers? Dubai is home to the tallest hotel in the world, that's the Jivora

05:21Hotel, and it's located on Sheikh Zayed Road. The UAE does not levy income tax on individuals, but we

05:28still have a five percent value-added tax, which is still pretty low. The UAE is home to the richest

05:34horse race in the world, that's the Dubai World Cup. The UAE emirate that has more mountains than any

05:41other is Fujairah. The UAE has such advanced technology that they can literally make it rain.
