AccuWeather's Tony Laubach reports the Kansas City metro region received a dusting of snow from a passing winter storm, but the snow didn't deter road crews and commuters on Feb. 12-13.

00:00Our coverage continues right now with meteorologist Tony Laubach. He loves cold.
00:03Yeah, he loves the cold, he loves the snow, and now he's in Kansas City where things are just moving fine this morning.
00:14Moving fine, yes, but Billings, you are warmer than us.
00:19I always say that, obviously, temperatures that start out with a negative are cold, like straight up cold.
00:26But I always gauge it, if you can say the temperature in a single syllable, it's cold. It is five right now.
00:33The AccuWeather Real Feel is a two-syllable number at seven, but that doesn't make you feel a whole lot better.
00:39Sun has come up, we don't have quite the beauty scene behind me here, so unfortunately that means you actually have to focus on me this time.
00:45And my apologies to you guys this morning, especially if you're eating breakfast and you have to look at my smiling face out here in the cold.
00:51But the good news is we are not dealing with the snow right now.
00:55And it wasn't a huge thumper here for us in Kansas City.
00:58Bernie, I'm going to steal your word there, we'll show you some of those snow totals.
01:01This really kind of in the Kansas-Missouri area, you see really between two and four inches.
01:06Here in Kansas City, it ranged anywhere between, oh, let's say about two and a half to three, the further north you got.
01:12You got a little bit further south, it was going to be in kind of that one to two range.
01:15And we saw 3.8 in Emporia, so areas out across Kansas doing a little bit better out that way.
01:21We'll show you what it looked like around the region here.
01:23Again, not a huge issue for folks in Kansas City, especially when you compare it to what happened back in January with that big blizzard that they had.
01:30This, again, just a light, fluffy snow, so it was more of a nuisance-type event for folks here.
01:34We did see a couple of slide-offs here and there in some of the slick spots.
01:38But generally speaking, the crews were able to keep ahead of the snow pretty easily.
01:42We saw that snow blowing around a little bit, as this was more of that light, fluffy snow.
01:46Because it was so cold, you don't have the moisture content, which also kind of helps because you don't have that thick, heavy snow that tends to want to grip your vehicle and kind of take you for a little bit of a ride.
01:55So, traffic moving pretty good yesterday.
01:57It was a slow commute, and that was really the case from areas down in Wichita up to Topeka here in Kansas City and points further to the east and north.
02:04We saw the heavier snows isolate more across the northern parts of the area as we got into portions of Nebraska and Iowa.
02:11Temperature is going to be cold today.
02:13We're going to get back into the 40s, so almost tropical-like, as we head into the weekend.
02:17So, a little bit of a reprieve for the folks here in Kansas City.
