00:00By now, it's beyond clear that Mr. Kennedy is not remotely qualified to become the next
00:10Secretary of HHS.
00:13In fact, Mr. Kennedy might be one of the least qualified people that Donald Trump could have
00:19chosen for the job.
00:20There are so many others who would have been better.
00:23I'm very proud that every single Democrat will oppose Mr. Kennedy's nomination.
00:30Because Democrats know better than to elevate a conspiracy theorist to the top health care
00:35job in the country.
00:39I know some of my colleagues feel the same way privately.
00:44In fact, if the Senate held a secret ballot today, I'll bet Mr. Kennedy would never come
00:50close to becoming confirmed.
00:53And that many, if not most, Republicans would vote against him.
00:58I think most likely most Republicans would vote against him if there were a secret ballot.
01:05But sadly and unfortunately for America, Republicans are being strong-armed by Donald Trump and
01:11will end up holding their nose and voting to confirm Mr. Kennedy.
01:16What a shame.
01:18What a travesty.
01:20I urge my Republican colleagues to think very carefully one last time before rolling the
01:26dice on Mr. Kennedy.
01:31A vote to confirm Mr. Kennedy is a vote to make America sicker.
01:37Mr. Kennedy has made a living not by promoting public health, but by actively fighting it.
01:46Mr. Kennedy is the face of the modern anti-vaccine movement.
01:50Mr. Kennedy has spent decades profiting off vaccine misinformation.
01:59Contrary to the attacks that have constantly been made on him, he has made it very clear
02:04that he will support safe vaccinations and just wants to see that the research on them
02:12is done and done well.
02:15When his nomination for the role of Secretary of HHS was announced, Mr. Kennedy stated,
02:21we have a generational opportunity to bring together the greatest minds in science, medicine,
02:28industry and government to put an end to the chronic disease epidemic facing Americans.
02:35I agree with him.
02:37We've got to get into the business of making America healthy again.
02:43Mr. Kennedy's dedication to this commitment has been apparent throughout the nomination process.
02:49He will bring a fresh perspective to health care.
02:54On this vote, the yeas are 52, the nays are 48, the confirmation is confirmed.
03:03Just number four?
03:04Yeah.
03:05But just number four.
03:08Under the previous order, the motion to reconsider is considered made and laid
