00:00Just walked outside one day and I saw this little goose in the middle of my backyard.
00:05I looked around for the family and there was no one.
00:08It just became obvious that we had to take care of it until it could take care of itself.
00:13What'd you make the goose?
00:15Spiral staircase, look.
00:17He really imprinted on me so I became like his mom.
00:23He followed me everywhere.
00:26We'd be cutting grass and he was following back and forth.
00:35There was a pretty bad storm that was blowing up the river.
00:38You could see he was just running into the wind and getting some lift.
00:45He would chase me and to keep up he would have to flap.
00:48Go, go, go, go, go, fly, fly, fly, fly.
00:51I would pick him up and hold him and run with him and he would start flapping.
00:57And then I'd give him a little boost and he would fall in the water.
01:02One day a family came by and he just went out with them and just kind of followed them on the river.
01:08A week later he came outside and there he was.
01:10So look who came back today.
01:12Hello buddy, hello, hello.
01:16He just walked right up to us and we just knew it was him.
01:22The next morning we got up and he was gone.
01:25I was like, well if he can make it a week without us he'll be fine.
01:29It was almost like he came back just to let us know he was good.
01:33When he left it was bittersweet but I was glad that he hooked up with that family and made his way.
