New York Designer Dennis Basso has 'the strong, stylish, intelligent, and practical New York woman' in mind, while he handcrafts his beautiful work. Drawing inspiration from decades of her evolution, Basso says he sought to capture--dinner dresses, cocktail pantsuits, and evening gowns for a woman who commands her wardrobe, not the other way around. How that translates? Neutral champagnes, creams and off-whites elevated with hints of gold, while black-and-cream tweeds are enriched with pearl embellishments and subtle touches of Lurex. Rich tones of deep Bordeaux and classic black ground the collection, ensuring a balance of richness and neutrality. The fabrics--silk charmeuse, duchess satin, tweed, velvet, organza, and tulle--are accented with intricate hand-embroidered details. Silhouettes are lean and elegant, with long sleeves and romantic ball gown skirts, creating a harmonious blend of structure and softness. This strong stylish woman will also apparently be very warm, with no shortage of luscious furs, sable, mink, curly lamb; both cropped and very long, classic, but reimagined with a contemporary edge.

00:00Well, I think it's exciting, this particular collection, I used the iconic American New
00:19Yorker, the woman over the decades, and I thought it was an idea to look back and see
00:24some of the glamour, some of the practicality combination.
00:28So we have beautiful fur coats and gorgeous evening gowns and tweeds and a little tweed
00:33embellished with a three-dimensional pearl, silk charmeuse, a touch of satin head embroidered
00:38with tiny paillettes, a gorgeous chinchilla coat to the knee with a turtleneck satin dress.
00:44I did a deep Bordeaux evening gown that's a slim column with long sleeves, very simple,
00:51but there's a drape of a flounce from the hip all the way to the bottom of the dress
00:57with a beautiful soft bow.
01:00There's an also a panel velvet that's cream and gold with some dimension to the fabric
01:06and then I took the fabric and I had iris flowers made from the fabric that sit on the
01:14shoulder like a corsage of a cascade, a tweed pantsuit with wide, wide legs and a square
01:22neckline with a fitted little jacket and a long sleeve.
01:26And then another one with a skirt to the floor and instead of having buttons, beautiful
01:30tweed flowers that became where the buttons would be placed in the front of the jacket
01:35or up the side of the sleeve.
01:37Some fun details.
01:40Totally adapted to each dress.
01:42Here we have done many different styles and they go from a French twist to a knot to the
01:47hair down.
01:48It's about adapting it to the dress.
01:51This is what makes the beauty, when you have the hair, the makeup and the dress work together.
