00:00And what a week it has been for Kellen Moore in the city of New
00:04Orleans Sunday evening as the offensive coordinator of the
00:07Eagles guides Philadelphia to a Super Bowl championship and
00:12Lombardi trophy in dominant fashion and then it becomes
00:16official what we all expected named the new head coach of the
00:20New Orleans Saints. So yesterday afternoon, as the new skipper of
00:24the Saints, he meets with the media for the first time. Joe
00:29here was Kellen Moore talking about the process of how he
00:32became a 36 year old head coach in New Orleans. I think
00:35certainly the the great joy that as you went through this
00:38process, it became very evident was this is a collaborative
00:40effort here. This is a team. This is a group that works
00:43really well together. We're excited to go through this
00:46journey. Obviously, we'll begin the process of evaluating the
00:49player side of this and building a coaching staff and doing it
00:52the right way moving forward. It's going to be a really fun
00:54process. Kellen Moore throughout the entirety of his
00:58football life when he was a legend on the Smurf turf and in
01:02the blue in Boise, Idaho has always had a baby face. He has
01:06always looked young. It is crazy now to see him as the youngest
01:09head coach at only 36 years old in the National Football League
01:14his first time as a head coach after a successful run 4 years
01:19in Dallas as an offensive coordinator a stop in LA that
01:23didn't work out so great but now a Super Bowl championship
01:26winning OC this previous season in Philadelphia. Joe in my
01:31estimation, Kellen Moore has the pedigree the credit and the
01:34resume to I think be a successful offensive mind and
01:38head coach in the NFL. He has basically been a coach since he
01:41was 20 years old at Boise State, but I don't necessarily
01:45believe the situation he finds himself in in New Orleans is
01:50all that favorable for a first time head coach to have
01:53success because here's what the Saints are looking at a
01:57five and twelve season a year ago, four consecutive years now
02:02of missing out on the postseason after four straight
02:05years of winning the NFC South 120 to one to win next year's
02:10Super Bowl. They have the ninth overall pick eight total picks
02:14in the 2025 NFL draft and you can see they are in cap hell or
02:19perhaps at the very worst purgatory as they are in the
02:23red minus 54 million. So over 50 million dollars over the cap
02:31as of right now, not necessarily Joe the financial
02:34flexibility necessary for a franchise that needs to bolster
02:38up its roster in many different positions. Yeah and listen,
02:42it's not a you know, we're a coach away kind of situation,
02:46although I I do think he's going to inherit one of the
02:50more. He's got more versatile weapons on this roster than
02:54many teams do. I mean the fact you got Kamara and Taysom Hill
02:58and you have an experienced quarterback who when healthy
03:01Ben has shown an ability to be able to light teams up here. So
03:07I could not have been more impressed with the coaching job
03:10what we saw in Dallas versus the offensive coaching job we
03:14saw and how they transform that Philadelphia team into a world
03:19champion. He's got a lot of very interesting pieces
03:22offensively to make teams very worried about playing the
03:25Saints. I think next year.
