00:00Joe tomorrow, we make some history for the first ever time
00:05in SEC men's basketball. We have a matchup between the number
00:09one team in the AP poll, and the number two team in the AP poll.
00:14And it's a rivalry now amplified the iron basketball if you will
00:20between number one Auburn and number two Alabama tomorrow
00:24inside Coleman Coliseum a 4pm Eastern Time tip is when we
00:29expect to get things underway between one versus two, the
00:35line is already out. You don't often get lines for Saturday
00:39this early on a Friday morning, unless the game is a monumental
00:42matchup. And that's what we have the tide in ever so slight
00:47favorite at home, but it's basically a pick them with an
00:50outlandishly high total of 171 and a half. That's what you have
00:56when you have Alabama one of the best offenses in the country.
00:59And an Auburn team that of course can keep pace just to say
01:04what is at stake for this game, not just the first one versus
01:08two ever in the history of SEC men's basketball. Our first one
01:12versus two in men's hoops since November 2021 just our fifth one
01:17versus two game in the last decade in men's college
01:21basketball. And oh yeah, not only a rivalry between the
01:25Tigers in the tide, but a game Joe that could decide the top
01:29spot in the SEC with all of that history and all of that
01:35significance on the line tomorrow afternoon in Tuscaloosa
01:39Joe. Will the game match the hype?
01:43Yeah, well, you got to think of well, look at a total been like
01:46171 and a half. And I don't think people realize how
01:49unbelievably rare this is. They went to 64 teams been back in
01:551984 and 85 for the tournament. And since then, we've only had
02:0016 regular season matchups between number one and number
02:05two. The most recent was in 2021 when Gonzaga destroyed number
02:10two UCLA. But outside of that, we've only had eight matchups
02:15that have actually ever come from the same conference. I
02:17mean, this is rarefied college basketball that we're going to
02:21get where number one and number two are facing each other from
02:25the same conference at this point in the season here. And by
02:28the way, usually, those two teams or at least history tells
02:32us they make a deep run in March here. None of them have ever
02:36wanted to have those 16 games. No team has ever actually won
02:40at all. But boy, oh boy, they have. They have made a run. And
02:43you look at these two teams, man, number one and number two
02:46and offensive efficiency. It's why that total is the way it is.
02:49And don't forget to start the season, Alabama couldn't hit a
02:53three if their life dependent on it. Not so much anymore here,
02:57man. Now they're hitting almost 40% of their threes. They're now
03:0240th in the country in three point efficiency. I don't expect
03:06a lot of defense. I expect a lot of points in this game.
