Las autoridades apresaron a Hipólito Eucebio Fernández, de 42 años, acusado de robar en una iglesia y varias viviendas en San Francisco de Macorís.  En un video que circula en redes sociales, se observan algunos de los artículos supuestamente sustraídos, entre ellos una bocina, un televisor y una lavadora. El detenido confesó que consume crack y aseguró que dejará de hacerlo, además de prometer que no volverá a robar.  Sin embargo, lo que más ha llamado la atención es la reacción de su propio padre, Eugenio Fernández Paulino, alias Porfirio, quien expresó su desesperación y vergüenza por la conducta de su hijo.
