00:00A Sriwijaya airplane crashed into the sea on Saturday, minutes after taking off from
00:07Indonesia's capital Jakarta on a domestic flight with 62 people on board.
00:12The Boeing 737-500, en route to Pontianak in West Kalimantan, disappeared from radar
00:19screens after taking off just after 2.30 pm, 30 minutes after the scheduled time because
00:25of heavy rain.
00:26Live tracking data showed the jet plunged into a steep dive just four minutes after
00:30takeoff.
00:31No reasons have yet been given for the crash, with authorities focusing on a frantic search
00:36and rescue effort that appeared to offer no hope of finding any survivors.
00:40However, on Sunday morning, body parts and derbis were hauled from the waters near Indonesia's
00:46capital.
00:4762 passengers and crew were on board, including 10 children, all of them Indonesians, according
00:52to authorities.
00:53Officials said they would continue their search by sea and air while also using sonar radar
00:58to pick up more signs of the downed jet.
01:00The Jakarta-based airline was founded in 2003 and flies largely within Indonesia.
01:06The airline has had a solid safety record until now, with no on-board casualties before.
