00:00Good evening, this is Mandusha Radhakrishnan from Gulf News. I'm the entertainment editor.
00:04Today we are on the fifth day of the International Film Festival of India in Goa.
00:09It was a long commute to come from Dubai, but just to meet you. So we have the fabulous,
00:13blazing talent. She's so good. If she's in a movie, I watch it. That's the kind of goodwill
00:18she has earned over the years. And you're also luminous on screen. I was just telling your
00:22director. She's here for Lost. It's a tale of disappearance. And it sounds like a very troubled
00:28character as well that you're playing, right? So how was it to play, you know,
00:34being a part of the film Lost? Thank you so much, first of all, for your generous words.
00:39And let me tell you, for the longest time, the connect which UAE has for Hindi films or Indian
00:47films has been her. You know, the only voice we used to hear for her, I remember, you know,
00:54we'd had these phone interviews, telephoning, and she was the only voice for us and the only
00:58face for us. We both have survived 16 years in Harkin. We are not complaining. But Yami,
01:05I have to tell you, it's iffy, it's a big deal, like, you know, and it's a film festival.
01:09So to see a Bollywood star at a film festival, I feel it gives me goosebumps because I feel
01:13you guys are doing something different as well. Do you feel the same as an actor?
01:17I feel the same. And I think for me, it's the first time actually that I'm a part of a film
01:21festival. So I feel like a debutant myself in some way. And what feels good when you know that
01:27what you're backing, I'm very confident about Lost. I'm confident about the genre it holds and
01:34the way it's been portrayed a story, which is, yes, as you said, tale of disappearance or
01:40investigative drama with it, but has an undertone of an emotional thriller and emotional drama at
01:46the same time. And what makes it different from it's not just investigative film, you know,
01:51you've seen many, yes, and some very well made as well in the past. But it's a little much more
01:57than that. It's a little more layered, it's a little more conflicted, which is more like a
02:02mental conflict. And also subtly, I remember we were discussing this the last time we met
02:08about media integrity, you know, in today's times. Yes, because I play a journalist in the film.
02:15So I feel anyone who watch, who likes the trailer will connect with the film. So it'll find its
02:21audience. Let's see how, let's see how much I would love for as many people to connect with it.
02:26And as you said, the whole idea is for people to come up with consistently good films. So people
02:33feel at home. Let's give it one shot.
