00:00The Department of Migrant Workers has returned some of the mishandled Balikbayan boxes to their owners.

00:06This is the story of Bian Manalo.

00:11More than 40 delayed and mishandled Balikbayan boxes

00:14that were in a warehouse in Valenzuela City

00:17have been returned by the Department of Migrant Workers to the OFW owners.

00:22This is in accordance with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:25to protect and take care of the Balikbayan boxes for the new generation of Overseas Filipino Workers.

00:34In the program hosted by the OFW in Radyo Pilipinas,

00:37the DMW notified the OFWs about the return of the Balikbayan boxes.

00:43They also reminded them to take a good look at the list issued by the Bureau of Customs

00:48of the registered and legitimate Balikbayan boxes forwarders so that they will not be victims.

00:53We trust the registered and legitimate Balikbayan boxes forwarders.

01:00We're working on around 2,500 boxes that were abandoned,

01:06that cannot be delivered because their forwarders left them abroad.

01:14The Balikbayan boxes were sent to Cavite, Batangas, and Negros Occidental.

01:20In addition, the Agency of Action Fund Assistance is also involved in the victims of the Balikbayan boxes scam.

01:26Last year, almost 10,000 Balikbayan boxes were delivered by the DMW to its owners.

01:34It is important that you send a good person to deliver the boxes to your home.

01:48Meanwhile, more than 70 OFWs from Lebanon have availed of the government's repatriation program

01:54have returned to the Philippines.

01:56In total, more than 1,000 OFWs and more than 60 dependents have returned to the country from Lebanon

02:04since the war between Israel and the Hamas group in 2023 broke out.

02:10The various government agencies, including the Financial Assistance and Livelihood Program,

02:14also promised their support.

02:17In addition, 29 repatriated OFWs from Israel have also returned to the Philippines.

02:24In total, more than 1,000 OFWs and more than 30 dependents from Israel have returned to the country since 2023.
