00:00Let's look at some awards here.
00:01Let's look ahead to the American League MVP.
00:04Juan Soto no longer in the American League,
00:06so you'd think it would default to Aaron Judge,
00:09and he sits there at three to one.
00:10But Joe, Bobby Witt Jr. seems to be the darling
00:14on the tip of everyone's tongue.
00:16I've seen him as the one-one in some places.
00:20Then there's Gunnar Henderson, Jordan Alvarez,
00:22Vlad Guerrero we talked about before the break
00:24in a contract year, and then Jose Ramirez,
00:27maybe some other names too.
00:28But American League MVP,
00:30this is about what we're looking at here, Joe.
00:33It is, and Aaron Judge deserves to be at the top.
00:36I mean, I would be putting him at the top,
00:37and I think three to one is a really good investment.
00:39He'd probably make some decent return on that.
00:42Bobby Witt Jr. plus 350, certainly,
00:46like a guy who's right at the top
00:47of those fantasy draft boards too.
00:49I'm gonna fade Gunnar Henderson a little bit,
00:50and this goes along with fading the Orioles
00:52just a tad this year.
00:54Alvarez certainly might stand out
00:55a little bit more to folks now.
00:57Remember, no Kyle Tucker, no Alex Bregman,
00:59so if the Astros are really good,
01:01I think it puts even more attention potentially
01:03on just how great Alvarez is.
01:06And you mentioned playing for that contract year.
01:08There's absolutely a narrative to be written
01:10that a plus 1600 Vlad Guerrero Jr.
01:13is an incredible investment,
01:14because he could have that huge year
01:17that we've all been waiting for,
01:18where he puts the two halves together,
01:19and he's just unbelievable from pillar to post.
01:23But he hasn't done it yet, so we have to wait for it.
01:25Great second half last year,
01:27an incredible opportunity there for him this year
01:29to make headway in this.
01:30But to me, I'm gonna invest in two spots.
01:32Number one, the favorite for me that I like the most
01:35is Bobby Witt Jr.
01:36I think Bobby Witt Jr. is right on that precipice
01:39of becoming an absolute rock star
01:42in all of the casual circles.
01:43Now, the casual baseball fan still knows Bobby Witt,
01:46but I don't think they realize just how great this guy is.
01:49And the Royals were a fun team last year.
01:51The Royals are a playoff caliber team,
01:52I think, again, this year.
01:53And the long shot is a guy
01:55that annually does not get enough credit.
01:58And I don't know what this guy has to do to get some love.
02:02And last year, I was pushing the love for Jose Ramirez.
02:05He's a top five pick overall for me.
02:08I don't know why he is not considered
02:10maybe in the two or three spot.
02:12I think he should be.
02:14Last year, Jose Ramirez had 39 homers.
02:16He scored 114 runs, drove in 118, and stole 41 bases.
02:22So he was almost a 40-40 player,
02:25and it feels like nobody cares.
02:26Why?
02:27Because he doesn't play in New York City.
02:27I am sick to death of this, Matthew.
02:31I am sick and tired of having to stand up here
02:34and shout from the rooftop
02:35of just how great Jose Ramirez is.
02:38If I told you a guy was 40-40 with 100-100,
02:41you'd say, well, that guy should have been MVP.
02:43Well, okay, but he doesn't play in New York,
02:44so he doesn't get all the love.
02:45Meanwhile, where's his Juan Soto?
02:48Where's his Aaron Judge?
02:50He's doing it by himself out there, for God's sakes.
02:53Not enough love for Jose Ramirez.
02:55Give me Jose Ramirez.
02:56And look at that number you're getting on my guy,
02:57Jose, plus 1,800.
02:59Matt, who do you like for MVP?
03:01While I take a deep breath here.
03:03Got a little ahead of myself.
03:05Got a little excited.
03:05I'll pick up what you put down,
03:07and I just want you to know you're not on the rooftop, Joe.
03:09You're on the front porch steps.
03:11So why don't you just come inside and sit down.
03:12I'll give you some soup.
03:13But here's the thing.
03:14I'm with you on Jose Ramirez.
03:15My Ovaltine, I've gone crazy.
03:17I mean, I need to rest.
03:19I need to sit down for a minute.
03:21Where's Matt?
03:22Put Matt Lock on and make me calm.
03:23Today's generation.
03:24Why is everyone saying Matt Lock now?
03:26I don't understand life anymore.
03:29I can't do it.
03:30Listen, Jose Ramirez is really good.
03:31All right, Jose Ramirez.
03:32Who are you?
03:33I'm the guy that just don't exist anymore.
03:36And I think you mentioned the fact that
03:37he was doing it alone.
03:38Dude, he's got Steven Kwan there now.
03:39He has a full season of Lane Thomas.
03:41There's a ton of kids coming on the way.
03:43Carlos Santana's the other old guy in that locker room.
03:46The pitching's always been good.
03:47The bullpen is great.
03:48They only need to play seven inning baseball
03:50with that bullpen.
03:51So that's why Jose Ramirez could finally get some love.
03:54Long shots, Julio Rodriguez.
03:56I mean, he's a notorious slow starter.
03:58So it makes the stuff he does after it
04:00a bit more impressive.
04:01And if Seattle can take that next step,
04:03I think Rodriguez will be there.
04:05And at plus 2200, why not take that chance?
04:07And the last long shot, it's another old guy,
04:10but you could just tell baseball's about that.
04:12And it's Rafi Devers.
04:13I mean, he's at plus 3000.
04:15This is a team that is poised.
04:17And if they are there come the end of the year,
04:20Devers is gonna have to be a big part of that.
04:22So that's why I like these three guys.
04:23But Ramirez is my favorite.
04:25Devers is my long shot.
