00:26for the first day of the Sub-Regional Meeting on Enhancing Cooperation for Arms, Trade, Treaty, Universalization, and Humanitarian Disarmament.

00:34According to the President, peace and unity can be achieved if the countries have respect, equality, and sovereignty.

00:42The establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, and the adoption of the Ottawa Convention will play a major role in the development of peace and progressive nations.

00:54The Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime was held here under the Presidential Office for three days.

01:02The Department of Foreign Affairs and Nonviolence International Southeast Asia was also held here.

01:07Some of the countries represented here are the governments of Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Japan.

01:13The Law Enforcement Agencies of the Philippines, including the National Security Council, Department of National Defense, and Bureau of Customs, were also present here.

01:21Your presence here reflects your commitment to strengthening weapons regulation measures and your dedication to building a safer and more secure region for all of our people.

01:34Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin delivered a message through Ambassador Marciano Paineur, Jr.

01:41The Arms Trade Treaty stands as a landmark effort to regulate the global arms trade, prevent diversion, and reduce human suffering caused by illicit arms transfers.

01:55The roadmap for arms regulation will be discussed in the coming days to strengthen arms control in the countries.

02:03Countries will also exchange ideas for the Capacity Building, Joint Training Program, and the resolution of cross-border arms trade challenges.

02:12By working together, we can prevent conflict, protect lives, and build a future where arms are traded responsibly and used only in accordance with international law and humanitarian principles.
