00:00Full time here in a bitterly cold Anfield, Liverpool not at their best but they dug in to earn a 2-1 win over Wolves and restore a 7-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
00:12It looks like the 2-2 draw is effort in the mid side, Derby really took it at all mentally and physically on Liverpool because they weren't at their best, especially in the second half, but they dug in.
00:24And Nanaslot knew that after the game, he knew it was a big victory for Liverpool, I mean the way he celebrated it, he doesn't over-celebrate at all, but this was his closest come-up, two raised hands to the cock because he knew it was a big win.
00:42They were put under siege for a lot of the second half, made some silly errors on the ball, which is usually a sign of fatigue, but yeah, they dug in.
00:50First half they were pretty dominant to be honest, had chances, took the lead in the 15th minute through Luis Diaz, back on the left wing with Cody Gaspo out to him, he took his chance, Diaz had to play as a strike for a lot of the season.
01:04Liverpool burst forward on the counter-attack, great play from Diogo Jota making his first lead start at October because of his injuries, got away from the Wolves defence, Mo Salah put the ball to the box, Wolves didn't deal with it and Diaz with a sort of chested finish when he was going for a loose ball.
01:24Liverpool made it 2-0 and Diaz again was at the heart of it, he won Liverpool a penalty when we went round Jose Sarr, I mean the debate was, was he going to get to the ball, but the referee pointed to the spot and Mo Salah does what Mo Salah does best and that was slotting the penalty hole and putting it down the centre.
01:44Liverpool were comfortable in the first half, second half Wolves come out, started taking a few more risks, they had an early chance, Alisson Becker made a great save and Liverpool had a goal to Salah for offside, Mo Salah just strays offside, fantastic ball from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
02:00And then they thought he'd had a penalty when Diogo Jota went to ground, brought up a re-air, a few cents, the referee Simon Cooper to the monitor and he overturned his decision and Amos lost after the game which makes it that it was the right decision and from there Wolves got real impetus.
02:20They reduced the arrears from Mateus Cunha, their talisman, fantastic finish but Liverpool were disappointed how easily he was allowed to get a shot off outside of the box and to say from there Liverpool had to dig in, a lot of headers, a lot of clearances, Gerald Bonser who came on at half-time, Rupi McCarthy, he's a massive clearance, really, really important and these are the games that Liverpool are going to have to win if they are going to be crowned champions this season.
02:48Seven points clear, 13 games to go, now two huge away games, first to Aston Villa on Wednesday and then Manchester City on Sunday. The Welton-Curtis-Jones-Baxter squad, that'll be a Welton addition because Liverpool look like they need to replenish in midfield but Cosi Gafpo is a doubt which is a bit of a blow for Liverpool but yeah, Arnaud Slot, he'll be happy with the results, be expecting an improved performance at Aston Villa but three points are all that matters.
03:17Thanks Liverpool, 2-1.
