00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. invited the best programs of the Department of Social Welfare and Development to the public
00:08along with the 74th anniversary of its inauguration.
00:12The details are reported by Kenneth Paciente of PTV Manila.
00:18In his visit to the 74th anniversary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development,
00:24President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. insisted that the government will continue to provide services through new development models
00:33that will serve as a blueprint for the development of the Filipino family.
00:38The President himself is the first to launch the Family in the New Philippines,
00:42which includes programs and services that will provide guidance in increasing the living standards of DSWD beneficiaries.
00:50His goal is to introduce programs that not only provide financial assistance,
00:56but also psychosocial interventions, care, and residential facilities for various sectors of society.
01:02This initiative aims to strengthen family development and welfare in every stage of life,
01:09recognizing that nurturing households are the cornerstone of a thriving nation.
01:15In this program, we will examine the situation of each family to determine their real needs.
01:23At the same time, we will implement the necessary measures to ensure that the government's assistance is sufficient and meets their situation.
01:36HELPS, or Harmonized Electronic License and Permit System, was also initiated,
01:41an online platform for easier registration, accreditation, and obtaining a license from Social Welfare and Development Agencies, or SWDA.
01:51Through this, they will only go down to 12 stages from the previous 49,
01:58so if they used to spend 6 months in the process, it will only last 7 days.
02:04MTA, or Minors Traveling Abroad Systems, was also launched for online applications for minors who want to leave the country.
02:13It aims to ensure the safety and well-being of Filipino children who travel to different countries.
02:19These endeavors reflect a government that listens and that responds, a government that evolves to meet the needs of its people.
02:27Along with these new initiatives, the Executive Board did not ignore the achievements of the DSWD in the past years,
02:35particularly when the President approved the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, or 4-Piece,
02:40where he pointed out that only last year, 4 million households received assistance from the program.
02:47The President also recognized the Sustainable Livelihood Program of the DSWD, which received assistance from more than 270,000 households.
02:57He also pointed out the agency's rapid response to calamities through the proper use of its Quick Response Fund.
03:05You have provided not just assistance, but behind that assistance, you have also provided hope to families rising from hardship,
03:15to communities devastated by calamities, to individuals who need to feel that their governor is there by their side, ready to assist.
03:27Your vision is simple and profound, to build a resilient, inclusive society where no one is left behind.
03:35Time and again, we have seen how that vision translates into action, whether in the Swiss distribution of aid after a typhoon,
03:44the consistent support for struggling families, or the enduring commitment to sectors often overlooked by society.
03:52The President also reiterated the importance of the assistance and support of Filipinos
03:57to properly implement the government's programs whose main goal is to improve the standard of living of every Filipino.
