00:00The sentiment of religious extremism in this country
00:06caused the people of Sabah and Sarawak to regret the formation of Malaysia.
00:10The spokesman for the parliament, Wilfred Melders Tangau.
00:14Former President Apko said,
00:17even though the cabinet has rejected the proposal of the guidelines
00:20on the involvement of Muslims in open Islam events,
00:23there are still parties who are trying to continue it.
00:27In the statement, Tangau said,
00:29the proposed guidelines should be approved and passed by the cabinet before it is announced,
00:34and the failure to do so is contrary to the principle of good governance.
00:40The proposal of the guidelines receives objections from civil society,
00:44non-Muslim religious leaders and politicians,
00:47with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim stating that the guidelines are unnecessary
00:51and will only cause concern.
00:55Yesterday, Sabah political activist and analyst Johan Ariffin Samad said,
00:59there is a growing sense of dissatisfaction in the two eastern countries
01:03towards the involvement of the coalition government in religious affairs,
01:07by stating that the people of Sabah and Sarawak
01:10have a firm opinion on religious freedom.
