00:00Three weeks, not long to go.
00:02As you can see behind me, we are full steam ahead.
00:05We start the build actually end of August.
00:07So this is nearly a three month build.
00:08A lot of structures have to go up, not only here on the 18th green, but also around the
00:12golf course.
00:13So it's a lot of work that goes in.
00:14A lot of infrastructure has to be set up, parking, transportation, logistics.
00:18So yeah, but we are all prepared and we are as good as ready.
00:21You see the signage is going up already.
00:23That means we are, we are nearly there.
00:28The most important thing is a very good pre-planning.
00:31And the second thing is a very good team.
00:34Only with a good team, you can actually achieve what we are achieving here.
00:36We have a very strong team based here in Dubai.
00:38Over 20 staff are now based in the Dubai office, working for the DP World Tour in the Middle
00:43East office.
00:44And then of course we have a massive team back in the UK that come out here.
00:47And I think working together as a team is one of the most important aspects of getting
00:51such a tournament done of this magnitude.
00:54And then the pre-planning.
00:55We start a year ahead.
00:57I'm already having plans for 2024 tournament right now.
01:02We have to think about ticketing, have to think about the structures.
01:05There's a lot that needs to be thought through very early, a lot of preparation, a lot of
01:09permits that need to be acquired.
01:12And then you need to have a proper strategy and plan to get everything in place.
01:15So it takes a long time to prepare for such a big event.
01:19We're really into the final stretch.
01:23Everything is taking shape on the golf course, all the plans and promotions off the golf
01:27course are taking shape and tickets are in high demand.
01:30So we're really excited.
01:33We have Jon Rahm coming back to defend his title of the DP World Tour Championship.
01:39We have Rory McIlroy coming back to defend his title as a Race to Dubai Champion.
01:45And he's currently leading the race, so looking good to defend that title.
01:49And we just announced several other members of the European winning Ryder Cup team.
01:54So in total, we will have 10 of the 12 members of the team who were victorious in Rome.
01:59So the field is looking really, really good.
02:02As you can see behind me, the 18th green, where everything unfolds on the Sunday of
02:07the DP World Tour Championship, where we crown the winner of the Race to Dubai of the season
02:11ending tournament as the DP World Tour Championship.
02:13And the structures here, you can see just behind me, the championship chalet where most
02:18of our sponsors have their tickets in.
02:21Then on the left side of the 18th fairway, you can see the private chalets of some of
02:26our big partners.
02:27And then underneath, and this is a special thing, is the media center, which probably
02:30is one of the fanciest views of the media all year directly at the 18th green, seeing
02:36the final putt drop when you're typing your press release.
02:45Sustainability is really important to us as a tour, so across all our events in all our
02:49countries.
02:50But we've got some really exciting new initiatives this year for the DP World Tour Championship.
02:55We've got our hospitality facility on 16, the Earth Lounge, which we've got solar panels.
03:00We're running it with hydrogen generators, so we're looking to run that with zero carbon
03:05emissions.
03:06BMW are providing electric cars as part of their fleet.
03:11We're working with no more bottles to save on plastic bottles.
03:16The recycling tournament waste, 75% of it is recycled, so yeah, lots of really good
03:21initiatives going on at the DP World Tour Championship.
03:26It's not all about golf.
03:28Golf is of course the major thing about this great event.
03:32Fifteen years now, since 2009, we have the DP World Tour Championship here at Jumeirah
03:36Golf Estates, which is a massive achievement.
03:39We have grown the tournament together with Dubai, and the village speaks for itself.
03:43We have a fantastic kids' zone we have prepared with bouncy cars, with kids' entertainers,
03:48with balloon bending, with face painting.
03:50But come any day, we have a community on the Friday.
03:53We have a ladies' day on Saturday, which has become very popular over the last couple of
03:57years.
03:58And then on Sunday, we have the family day.
04:00We encourage everybody to come over, enjoy in the village.
04:02We have fantastic food trucks, very good food offerings, a lot of games, a lot of fun.
04:08Everybody has access to golf.
04:09We have on the driving range, the trick shot boys that will entertain everybody.
04:12We have golf for all, so you can take a golf club and try to swing yourself just next to
04:17the professionals.
04:18We will also, and this is something new, have a camel ride this year, which we are very
04:23happy about.
04:24But we are very careful that the camel gets enough rest.
04:30We are looking forward, to be honest, to the Monday when everything is over, when we also
04:35can relax and hopefully be very proud of what we have achieved.
04:39And yes, we're looking forward to the week anyways, even though it's hard work.
04:42But we want to make sure that everybody who comes has a great time.
