Donald Trump slams Zelenskyy for complaining about being excluded, blaming him for "starting" the war and failing to make a deal with Russia nearly three years ago. Trump also hinted at a possible meeting with Vladimir Putin later this month. As tensions rise, what does this mean for Ukraine’s future and the ongoing war?

00:00They have to pay, they have to find out where's the money going to.
00:03They're Russian and Ukrainian people, but they're people.
00:05Doesn't matter where they're from on the whole planet.
00:09There's now peace. We have either a ceasefire or peace itself, and we're looking to do both.
00:16Grossly incompetent, and I think everyone knew that.
00:19This is something that should have never happened, would have never happened.
00:22And I used to discuss it with Putin.
00:24They say they took a poll, and Zelensky's at 4%.
00:28Who's living there?
00:30It's hard to believe that people live there.
00:32Their cities are being knocked down, maybe millions of lives.
00:36This could even end up in a World War III.
00:38Do you have any message for Ukrainians who, after three years of fighting,
00:41might feel betrayed or disappointed at not having a seat at these initial talks in Saudi Arabia?
00:46Well, I think I'm really disappointed in what's happened.
00:51I've been watching this for three years.
00:52It's a war that would have never happened if I was president.
00:55And I've been watching these people being killed at levels that
01:00you've rarely seen, not even close, since the Second World War.
01:05And I'm very disappointed.
01:06I hear that they're upset about not having a seat.
01:09Well, they've had a seat for three years and a long time before that.
01:13This could have been settled very easily.
01:14Just a half-baked negotiator could have settled this years ago,
01:22without — I think without the loss of much land, very little land,
01:26without the loss of any lives, and without the loss of cities that are just laying
01:32on their sides.
01:32You have those magnificent golden domes that are shattered, will never be replaced.
01:38You can't replace them.
01:40Thousand-year-old domes that are so beautiful, you can't replace that.
01:44The whole civilization has changed because of what.
01:46So when they're worried about not being seated, you mean somebody that should have
01:51gone in and made a deal a long time ago.
01:54You could have made a deal.
01:55This is one that could have made a deal.
01:57There was no talk of this during the Trump administration.
01:59Putin would have never, ever done it.
02:02We have — I believe President Zelensky said last week that he doesn't know where
02:07half of the money is that we gave him.
02:09Well, we gave them, I believe, $350 billion.
02:12But let's say it's something less than that, but it's a lot.
02:16And we have to equalize with Europe because Europe has given us — given a very much
02:21smaller percentage than that.
02:23I think Europe has given $100 billion, and we've given, let's say, $300 plus.
02:29And it's more important for them than it is for us.
02:32We have an ocean in between, and they don't.
02:35But where is all the money that's been given?
02:38Where is it going?
02:39And nobody — I've never seen an accounting of it.
02:41We give hundreds of billions of dollars.
02:44I have — I don't see any accounting.
02:46So, I want to see peace.
02:48Look, you know why I want?
02:50Because I don't want all these people killed anymore.
02:53I'm looking at people that are being killed.
02:55And they're Russian and Ukrainian people, but they're people.
02:58It doesn't matter where they're from on the whole planet.
03:02And I think I have the power to end this war, and I think it's going very well.
03:07But today, I heard, oh, well, we weren't invited.
03:09Well, you've been there for three years.
03:10You should have ended it three years.
03:12You should have never started it.
03:13You could have made a deal.
03:14I could have made a deal for Ukraine that would have given them almost all of the land —
03:20everything.
03:21Almost all of the land.
03:22And no people would have been killed, and no city would have been demolished,
03:25and not one dome would have been knocked down.
03:28But they chose not to do it that way.
03:30And President Biden, in all fairness — he doesn't have a clue.
03:33What he — he was so bad for this.
03:35He was so bad.
03:35So pathetic.
03:37So sad.
03:38But with all of that being said, look, we — it is what it is.
03:42When I left, there was no chance that this could have happened.
03:44But it happened because we had incompetent leadership at many different levels.
03:48But when you see what's taken place in Ukraine, with millions of people killed,
03:54including the soldiers — millions of people killed.
03:57A big percentage of their cities knocked down to the ground.
04:00I don't know how anybody even lives there.
04:01You know, when they say they took a poll, and Zelensky is at 4 percent.
04:05Who's living there?
04:06You know, I mean, people are — it's hard to believe that people live there.
04:09Their cities are being knocked down.
04:12And this is something that would have never happened.
04:14And, by the way, for four years, it didn't happen.
04:17It was never going to happen.
04:18Go ahead.
04:19The Press How would you counter the perception — because
04:23Russia is pushing for this, obviously.
04:24They don't really hold true elections — that that would be a capitulation of some sort.
04:28How would you guard against potentially Russia installing a puppet government?
04:32And then, finally, how would that new election have an impact on getting
04:36Zelensky to sign the rare-earth-minerals deal?
04:39Look, you have leadership — and I like him personally.
04:44He's fine.
04:45But I don't care about personally.
04:48I care about getting the job done.
04:50You have leadership now that's allowed a war to go on that should have never even happened,
04:54even without the United States.
04:55Look, we had a President who was grossly incompetent.
05:00He had no idea what he was doing.
05:01He said some very stupid things, like going in for portions and all those things.
05:05He made a lot of bad statements.
05:06But he's grossly incompetent, and I think everyone knew that.
05:11This is something that should have never happened, would have never happened.
05:14And I used to discuss it with Putin.
05:17President Putin and I would talk about Ukraine.
05:19It was the apple of his eye, I will tell you that.
05:21But he never — there was never a chance of him going in.
05:23And I told him, you better not go in.
05:25Don't go in.
05:26Don't go in.
05:27And he understood that.
05:28He understood it fully.
05:30But I'm only interested — I want to see if I can save maybe millions of lives.
05:35This could even end up in a World War III.
05:37I mean, to be honest with you, you've been hearing now Europe is saying,
05:39well, I think we're going to go in and we're going to go.
05:41All of a sudden, you're going to end up in World War III
05:44over something that should have never happened.
