00:00Well, granny was here in the late 1990s. Mum took it over from granny in 1936.
00:08Mum then had the post office included in about the 1960s, and I took it over from mum in 1991.
00:16I had my children, sort of helped mum out more and more, and then when dad died,
00:22we came back to live with her.
00:24That's when you decided to cover the shop.
00:28What is it that you like the most about owning the shop?
00:31Meeting my customers and all my friends every day, really.
00:34How many clients would you say you have per day?
00:37Between 50 and 70 a day, I suppose.
00:40What are the things that people buy the most?
00:43I guess milk, eggs, bread. I get my milk from Bruton Dairy. Eggs come from Yeovil Marsh.
00:50Do you want to pass the shop to your kids, and do you hope that they take over?
00:55Yeah. Well, my daughter-in-law, probably.
00:59What she will do with it, whether it be in its present form or something different when I go.
