00:00KD, uh, has, uh, did an interview, uh,
00:03after the All-Star game.
00:04Uh, he thinks about retirement all the time,
00:07knows it's a young man's game,
00:09but is going to take it, Scotty,
00:11uh, as they all like to say,
00:13uh, year by year, game by game, uh, KD.
00:17He's not making any grand predictions,
00:20uh, of when he's gonna hang them up.
00:22Not yet, at least.
00:24I don't think he shows his cards about anything.
00:27About does he want to, uh, move to a different team?
00:31Does he want to leave Phoenix?
00:34Uh, does he like Phoenix?
00:36Uh, he said the reason he didn't want to go
00:39to the Warriors had nothing to do with anyone there at all.
00:44It had to do with moving, uh, you know,
00:46halfway through the season.
00:48Uh, he said he wanted to finish, uh,
00:50with his teammates and see what they could do.
00:53He admitted that they've underachieved.
00:56He's been on teams like that before, uh, in Brooklyn
00:59and here in Phoenix, same result.
01:02Uh, you know, they had three stars on both of those teams
01:05and they didn't get it done. It's that simple.
01:07Just because you have, uh, three stars, two stars,
01:10doesn't mean you're gonna win in the NBA anymore.
01:13You have to have a team.
01:15You have to have a bench.
01:17You have to have all the parts.
01:19You have to have coaching as well.
01:21And that doesn't mean just some figurehead head coach.
01:23It means, you know, assistants that actually do coach.
01:27Uh, these head coaches get way too much credit
01:29and way too much blame for everything in the NBA.
01:33But I'll say this about him.
01:34His game is still clean.
01:36He can, um, get his shot off on anyone in the NBA.
01:42Literally, there is not one person that can stop him.
01:45He also, uh, still has the Spider-Man, um, handle.
01:52I mean, this guy can really, uh, break ankles still.
01:55He can, you know, shake and bake and go right, left,
01:59and sidestep and drop step and straight up jump shot
02:04his way, uh, past anyone.
02:07He can get past anyone.
02:09He can drive on anyone.
02:10He can shoot on anyone.
02:13The problem is, uh, there's no stopping a guy
02:17that can still do all that.
02:19Uh, guys retire when they can't do it anymore.
02:23When they don't have the step, the move, the sidestep,
02:27the backstep, the drop step, the, you know, uh,
02:31the jig and go, you know, just all of it.
02:34He's got all of it still.
02:36And so I don't care how old he is.
02:38When you still have it, he's not retiring.
02:40That guy's not retiring anytime soon.
02:42He's still got too much game.
02:45Like, he can flat out, like, whether you like him or not
02:47is irrelevant, because I watch a guy, every night,
02:51he gets his 30 like it's nothing.
02:53It's like, like, he's just getting out of bed,
02:55putting on his slippers.
02:56It's so easy for him to go off.
02:59It's not even funny.
03:00And he gets his 20 shots every night without fail.
03:05So there has been no decline at all in my view of his game.
03:11He is not retiring.
03:14That guy is just too good still.
03:16He's just way too good.
03:17And he's also one of only, you know, Jordan, Kobe, LeBron,
03:23and him that have done it all.
03:25The championships, the MVPs, the final MVPs,
03:28and the gold medals.
03:29He's one of four guys that have done it all.
03:33And he still wants to ball.
03:35He's a real baller.
03:36He just wants to ball.
03:37He wants to play ball.
03:39And he loves being on the floor playing.
03:41And he loves, frankly, teammates and being in the room
03:45and going out and playing pro ball every night
03:48and making tons of money.
03:49It's obvious to me that he has no plans to retire.
03:52Whatever he's saying now is just bullshack.
03:55He's not quitting.
