00:00I feel good. I just need a pound to fight. I feel strong, fast and my condition is going to be better too.
00:07The fight goes up with you?
00:09Yes, the fight goes up with me too.
00:30He trains more than a lot of these professional boxers out here. And he's not nervous, he's not shy.
00:35You guys see him at the media workout. He was throwing more combinations than me. I'm like, hold up, let me get some shine in there.
00:40What would you say is the first thing you taught him? What's the most important thing that you taught him when he started boxing?
00:49For me right now, the plan I have, I kind of want him to develop in his own style.
00:54He watches me a lot. He already has a hand speed down.
00:58It's funny, he was trying to teach me how to knock Canelo out.
01:01He said, Dad, when you throw the right hand, you got to touch, touch, and then you throw the right hand.
01:06He has a lot of knowledge already. I'm going to just let him get his style, how he wants to box.
01:13And then maybe when he's like five years old, then that's when we'll start to teach him.
01:16But I want it to come naturally and let him develop in whatever he wants to develop.
01:20David, what do you make of Fuzdick's energy this week? He's been saying that you beat him up in sparring pretty much.
01:26Up there, he said size doesn't matter. Is he beating before this fight's even started?
01:31The body language kind of seems like that, but I'll really let that get to my head.
01:35He knows what's on the table for this. I know what's on the table for this too.
01:40I prepared extremely well. I'm sure he prepared extremely well.
01:43But he still remembers what I did in those sparring sessions.
01:47He's a great fighter, but I'm also a great fighter.
01:50Do you have any predictions for the Bivol vs. Better BF fight October 12th?
01:56I think Bivol kind of has a slight edge, but I don't know. It's a 50-50 fight.
02:02It's going to be a great fight, but I think Bivol might take off with the victory.
02:06David, in terms of future fights, David Murrell Jr. is moving up to light heavyweight as well.
02:10He was talking about you two fighting in MSU. Is that possible?
02:13Yeah, it's definitely possible. It's definitely going to happen sooner than later.
02:16Because that's the only other fight I see in this weight class that makes sense.
02:19Fans have been asking for it, so I'm going to be a man of my word and I'm going to give them that fight.
02:23David, do you think Walter can come back?
02:29Jose, you have space for another WBC belt over here. You have space for another WBC belt here.
02:35I know. We've got one more. We've got one more.
02:38Actually, this is for the interim WBC world title, so next time we're going to be holding four, not just three.
02:44Or do you want those B-balls as well?
02:46We want them all. We want them all. All. All.
02:48I think these guys have a lot of balls and they'll definitely fight David, not like the ones at 168.
02:56Do you have a prediction for the Bivol vs. Better BF fight?
02:59You know, we trained extremely hard for this fight.
03:04That's also a good idea. Thank you.
03:18Yeah, you know, we trained super hard for this fight.
03:20And every fight we have to look impressive in order to keep getting better and better and better.
03:24I think David has a lot to prove still.
03:26He's only 27 years old and we've just got to keep winning impressively in order to keep fighting the best at 175 and 168.
03:36What's the highest weight class you think David can go?
03:38I think, you know, to be honest with you, I think he can definitely go up to heavyweight.
03:41That's the plan.
03:42And maybe when he's about 30 years old, 31 years old, that's the plan to go up to heavyweight.
03:47But we're going to keep going to this division little by little.
03:50Mr. Better BF, I hear your son talking about, you know, how you raised him and praised him the way he did.
03:55What does that mean to you?
03:57You know, it's very touching.
03:59You know, at the end of the day, I didn't know nothing about boxing when I came in.
04:02I just wanted to show them how to defend themselves.
04:04For some reason, I thought I was going to die.
04:06So I thought before I die, I'm going to get them strong, you know, so they don't go through what I went through when I was young.
04:10And I never thought about boxing, you know.
04:13And things just kept going.
04:15And now they're world champions, both of them.
04:17And in reality, I feel bad sometimes because they have a childhood.
04:22You know, all the time they were training, training, training to get better for life.
04:26But now that they're world champions, I feel a little bit better.
04:30But it was tough.
04:31It was tough.
04:32It was hard.
04:33And I don't know.
04:34Maybe if I would do it again, over, I would do it a little bit different.
04:38So we just spoke with Alex.
04:40And I asked him about the skill set of being good at martial arts and everything.
04:45And he said he's a complete fighter.
04:47But if he could come something out, that would be his only hope.
04:50Yeah, a lot of people, yeah, Alex is a great fighter.
04:52You know, he's a very dangerous fighter.
04:54We prepared for Alex super, extremely hard, you know.
04:58He has a lot of talent.
04:59He was an Olympian.
05:00He was a world champion.
05:01He only has one defeat.
05:03Everybody thinks about David, that he has bad footwork.
05:06And that's why you're going to see the bad work that he has, bad footwork.
05:09You know, we've been working a lot.
05:10We listen to the people.
05:12We hear what people say about his defense, his footwork, and all that.
05:16So guess what?
05:17We've been focusing on that a lot.
05:19We don't take it offensively, but we've been working a lot.
05:22And you're going to see a new David with a lot of footwork.
05:24And we haven't really had to use it because David's a pressure fighter.
05:29But we are going to find somebody that's stronger than him,
05:31so we're going to have to use our feet and try to use some angles.
05:34And we've been working on that a lot.
05:36Jose, I know this is your first fight at 175,
05:39but how do you feel about David being on the top of the competition now?
05:42Do you think it should be over?
05:43I think we still need a lot of work to be done.
05:44You know, the only way that we could get that title is by fighting Canelo.
05:47But he did not give us the opportunity to prove ourselves.
05:50I think Canelo's a hell of a fighter.
05:52It would be super hard for somebody to do what Canelo has done in boxing.
05:56He respects his team and his manager in the way that they have done things.
06:00He's a very disciplined guy.
06:02But we wanted to fight the best.
06:05We won't know until we fight the best where we're at.
06:08You said you would have done it differently to his question.
06:11What would you have done differently?
06:12I would give him more love, you know,
06:14because at the end of the day when you ask me that question,
06:16sometimes I couldn't tell my kids I love you
06:18because I thought I was going to make them weak.
06:21I want them to be animals.
06:22I want them to be like what they are now, animals.
06:25And I probably would have changed that.
06:27That's a big thing.
06:28I never told them when they were little that I love them.
06:30And I think they kept that in their heart.
06:32And to this day sometimes, you know,
06:34but now these days as many times as I can every day I tell them how much I love them.
06:38What about your grandsons?
06:39Do you tell them that now too?
06:40You know, he told me to train my grandson,
06:42and I'm like, no, I don't think I can go through this anymore.
06:45I don't think I can do it because to train somebody you have to have a cold heart.
06:49You can't really think about what they're going through.
06:51So sometimes they've got to bleed, they've got to get cuts and get injured.
06:55But, you know, he's doing it on his own,
06:57so I feel real good about that because I don't think I have the heart anymore
07:00to put somebody through all that pain.
07:11You know, David's a really nice guy outside the ring,
07:14but inside the ring he's an animal.
07:17You know, because when I put him through, you know,
07:20when he was young he was very shy and I wanted to make him a monster.
07:24I wanted to make him tough, you know.
07:26And now, you know, all that hate, you know,
07:29these guys wanted to kick my ass to be honest with you, you know.
07:32You know, because I would push them to the limits.
07:34I push them to everything, you know.
07:36I think at one point I think they really hated me,
07:38but inside I know that they love me.
07:40But I just push them so bad, you know.
07:42When I look at these movies with the Serena Williams sisters or whatever,
07:46Michael Jackson and all those stories,
07:48what they went through, they went through the same thing or maybe worse.
07:55David, when he started walking, he didn't even know how to talk.
07:58And I already put him through those big sacrifices and big hard workouts, you know.
08:05Yeah, yeah, that's when he takes everything out.
08:07I think he becomes, and I know, you know,
08:09as soon as he steps inside the ring, he becomes another person
08:12that I don't even recognize, you know.
08:14And now these days, you know, he's very spiritual.
08:16He's connecting with the universe,
08:18and he's more into frequencies
08:21and more taking his body to another dimension and all that.
08:25And that's very, very good, you know.
08:27I'm surprised how bad he wants this, you know.
08:29He's not a normal fighter.
08:31He takes boxing to another different level.
08:33Jose, I know previously, if I'm not mistaken,
08:36you said that Damon has already sparred Bebolt in the past.
08:40That could be a potential fight, something that you said yesterday,
08:43to beat the one, we're going to beat the one that beat the one?
08:45Yeah, the reason I said that is because, you know,
08:47we really want to fight the dangerous fighters,
08:51the people that nobody wants to face, you know.
08:53We come from nothing.
08:54I didn't even know nothing about boxing.
08:56In order to prove ourselves, we've got to beat the dangerous fighters.
08:59So I think it would be a great fight, fighting Bebolt.
09:03I would love to fight him because he beat Canelo.
09:05He beat Tudor Ramirez.
09:07So if we beat the one that beat the one, I think we could get recognized.
09:11I think that Bebolt did not get the recognition of beating Canelo.
09:15Nobody remembers Bebolt.
09:16But if we beat Bebolt, everybody's going to remember that.
09:19How long do you think he will not stay?
09:22He's going to 175.
09:24He's going to be at 175.
09:26Do you think he could be able to go back down to 168?
09:28Canelo's probably going to calm down, maybe this year, next year?
09:32Forget about Canelo.
09:33Canelo will never call the Mexican monster.
09:35He'll try to do whatever.
09:36He'll try to get guys like Munguia, like Berlanga,
09:39guys that have not been tested, and he knows that he's going to win.
09:43He will never mention David.
09:44He doesn't even mention David's name
09:46because he knows that there's a big possibility he's going to lose to David.
09:49He's asking for $200 million.
09:51That's ridiculous.
09:52I don't think nobody's going to give him that.
09:53Maybe $100 million, $150 million, maybe.
09:55But that's just a lot of money because he doesn't want to face him.
10:00Like I say, he's done a lot for the career of boxing.
10:03He's a great fighter, but at the end of the day,
10:06there's always one guy that you don't want to face.
10:08Jose, you asked him for me.
10:09They keep on talking about the possibility of doing a boxing league,
10:12getting all the promotions, promoters together,
10:14the companies together.
10:15Some say it's going to be near impossible
10:17because a lot of the egos are in place.
10:18What do you think about that?
10:19Hey, put us on the list.
10:21We're not afraid of nobody.
10:22We're here to test ourselves and fight everybody to make a statement,
10:26to make a legend, to be a legend one time,
10:28and to be recognized as one of the best.
10:30Because look, when Oscar De La Hoya was coming out, he fought everybody.
10:33Floyd fought everybody.
10:34Julio Cesar Chavez, all these fighters are in the Hall of Fame
10:38because they did fight everybody.
10:39And that's what we want to do.
10:41We want to make a statement for ourselves.
10:42We want to make history.
10:43And the only way to do that, you've got to face whoever.
10:46Sometimes it doesn't matter about winning or losing,
10:48just giving the fans what they want to see, good fights with good fighters.
10:52You said prime for prime.
10:54Who wins, Canelo or De La Hoya?
10:56Prime for prime, who wins, Canelo or De La Hoya?
10:59De La Hoya?
11:00Oh, definitely.
11:01I would give it to De La Hoya, you know, in their prime time.
11:04De La Hoya used to have a good jab, a lot of skills.
11:07The only thing that I see Canelo has, he has a lot of discipline.
11:10I don't see, people are going to be mad at me what I'm going to say right now.
11:13I don't see a lot of skills.
11:15Oscar De La Hoya was very skillful.
11:17Combination, three, four, five punch combination.
11:20Canelo throws single shots, you know, and more open shots.
11:23You know, he's very accurate.
11:25He's really good.
11:26That's why he's where he's at.
11:28But I would not even compare him to Oscar De La Hoya.
11:30Big shout out to Oscar De La Hoya.
11:32I think he would beat Canelo Alvarez.
11:34Thank you, Jose.
11:35Jose, who do you pick between Tank and Frank?
11:38Tank and Frank, that's another great fight, man.
11:40You know, it's a very exciting fight.
11:42I think Frank needs this fight in order to go all the way to the top
11:46and look impressive.
11:48Anything can happen in boxing.
11:50I think I'm going to lean towards a little bit to Tank
11:53because he's fought every style, and he's been more active,
11:56and he's proved that he's the best at his weight.
11:59So it's a tough fight, but anything can happen in boxing.
12:02But I think Tank will win because of the experience.
12:05That's my take.
12:06There is a big debate between boxing fans on who's the face of boxing right now,
12:11Gervonta Davis or Canelo Alvarez.
12:14I would give it to Gervonta Davis, hands down, you know,
12:16because Gervonta Davis will fight anybody.
12:18And we've seen a lot of exciting fights.
12:20Canelo, when was the last time he fought a real fighter?
12:23So I would not give it to him.
12:25Let's talk a little bit based on watching Canelo and Jaime,
12:29where Jaime was using a jab in the right hand.
12:32He controlled it.
12:33Yeah, man.
12:34You know, at the end of the day, I knew that Jaime Munguia
12:37would come out strong like maybe the first three rounds,
12:40and that's what he did.
12:42He kept throwing his straight punches, jab, jab, jab.
12:45But, you know, we knew that experience and all that.
12:47Canelo was just going to get him a little tired
12:49and start using his single shots and catching him, and he did.
12:53After he dropped them, everything changed,
12:55and Munguia just didn't have because of experience, you know.
12:58I would say Munguia, maybe another three more fights,
13:01he would have done better and maybe even beat Canelo.
13:03But experience, you know, he didn't have experience.
13:06A lot of people say that he gained a lot of experience from that fight.
13:09I think he got a lot of beating on that fight.
13:11I think Munguia got hit a lot, you know, on that fight because of experience.
13:16He's a great fighter, don't get me wrong.
13:18He's a very entertaining fighter.
13:20It was a good fight, but it was a good fight for Canelo
13:22because he knew he was going to beat him.
13:26Yeah, we all know how B-Ball beat Canelo with distance,
13:31with straight punches, single shots, basics, fundamentals.
13:34And Munguia, when I saw the first round, I was like,
13:37whoa, this is looking very interesting.
13:39And I think if he keeps like that and keeps his distance,
13:42he can beat Canelo.
13:44But then he decided to stay there.
13:46He wanted to trade with them, and he got hit.
13:48That's why he's so scared of your son because of the range, distance.
13:52Well, and you know, David Benavidez, he comes with a lot of punches.
13:55We're used to throwing a lot of punches.
13:57David, he has a different condition.
14:00And, you know, he has a different speed and power and all that.
14:03I would never even compare him to Munguia.
14:06That's why he doesn't want to face the Mexican monster
14:08because he knows that that's not an easy win.
14:10He says he doesn't bring anything to the table,
14:12only 25 pounds a day of the fight.
14:14Well, why not get paid $80 million, $70 million?
14:17Easy money, right?
14:19But he asked for $200 million.
14:21That means that he's scared.
14:23Do you feel at this point, like, you know,
14:25Canelo doesn't show interest in fighting your son?
14:27I wonder why.
14:29He will not show interest in fighting David Benavidez
14:31because he knows that that's the end of his career,
14:33and he doesn't want to pass the torch to another Mexican fighter
14:36like David Benavidez, you know?
14:38So, you know, my respects.
14:39You know, he did a great thing in boxing.
14:41He's still boxing, but he's not facing the real fighters, you know?
14:44Now, for him, it's just a business,
14:46and he even says, you know, he does whatever he wants to do,
14:49and all the organizations do what he wants to do.
14:52So, at the end of the day, I don't blame him.
14:54He's making money.
14:55He's doing whatever he wants to do.
14:57Hey, keep making money.
14:58What do you think, outside of your son,
15:00and it seems like he didn't show interest in Crawford either,
15:02it seems like those are some of the biggest possible money fights.
15:05Yeah, you know what?
15:07To be honest, I think he could definitely beat Crawford
15:09because Crawford's a little guy, you know?
15:11He's super strong, you know, with one hit.
15:13It's like three divisions difference, you know?
15:15That makes a big difference.
15:17Crawford's a hell of a fighter,
15:18and there's nobody that can beat Crawford.
15:20Maybe one division up, not a problem,
15:22but two, three divisions is just a lot.
15:24So why did they take the Crawford fight
15:26if he's not fighting David Benavidez?
15:28Because, you know, at the end of the day,
15:29Crawford is a very skillful fighter,
15:31and he's going to move around.
15:33A lot of people don't know.
15:34Canelo, his knees are not very well to be chasing people.
15:37So Crawford can move a lot.
15:39He wants somebody to come forward.
15:41Crawford's not going to come forward
15:42and try to stay toe-to-toe with him.
15:44He wants to get the fighters that are coming forward,
15:46and they're more of a clean fighter, you know?
15:49More of a fundamental, more.
15:51And Crawford's very slick, very, very...
15:54He adjusts, makes a lot of adjustments,
15:56and he's very slick.
15:57So I don't think that's why he wants to fight a guy like that.
16:00So that's probably why everyone's saying
16:02he's going to probably fight Edgar Belonga then?
16:04Yeah, you know, don't make me laugh, bro.
16:07You know, Edgar Belonga in his last fights
16:10looked terrible, you know?
16:12To be honest with you,
16:13and to get the opportunity to fight the face of boxing,
16:16the king of 168?
16:18Come on, bro, you know?
16:19Why? I don't understand why.
16:21And, you know, I think it's just going to be
16:22a lot of money lost there because, you know,
16:25his numbers are not well.
16:26And doing that, the numbers are going to get worse and worse.
16:29You think that's insulting to boxing?
16:31It is insulting. It is insulting
16:32because at the end of the day,
16:33when you're one of the best in history
16:35and the face of boxing,
16:36okay, you get a little tune-up,
16:38but then you show up.
16:40But all these fights are just tune-ups,
16:41tune-ups, tune-ups, tune-ups, you know?
16:43People are getting mad,
16:44and people are getting frustrated, you know,
16:45because of that.
16:46So guess what?
16:47Thank you, Canelo, because we have a lot of your fans.
16:49You know, now they're coming to this side
16:50because David is the real fighter.
16:52He's the best at 168.
16:54He's the one, you know?
16:55So now we have a lot of fans,
16:57and everybody's starting to believe in David.
16:58We've got to keep proving ourselves,
16:59and we're going to continue proving ourselves.
17:01So, you know, at this point,
17:03do you feel that Canelo is just...
17:05I mean, just maybe optimistic.
17:06He's just pricing 200,
17:08just starting to hide it.
17:09Well, let me ask you something.
17:10Let me ask all the people
17:11that are watching right now.
17:12You know, when you give an amount
17:15and you want to fight somebody,
17:16but then you ask for a ridiculous amount,
17:18it's like, ah, shit, I don't care.
17:19If I get paid that, I'll fight him tomorrow.
17:21And that's what he says.
17:22You know, those are little things
17:24that little young kids say,
17:26you know, when they're little.
17:27Well, if I get this money,
17:28I'll definitely say,
17:29and I'll fight him tomorrow.
17:30I'll fight him tonight
17:31for $200 million, you know?
17:34Do you think he's bargaining
17:35until he starts hiding and go down, maybe?
17:37Yeah, you know what?
17:38He doesn't want to face them.
17:39That's why he's asking for too much money
17:41so they don't even ask.
17:42But at the end of the day,
17:43I think he's hurting his career
17:44by saying that,
17:45because at the end of the day,
17:46everybody's talking about that.
17:48But if you say that David
17:49does not bring anything to the table,
17:51why not fight him?
17:52I'm pretty sure that we will get
17:53$80 million, $90 million.
17:55Easy, piece of cake, right?
17:57Why is he fighting Berlanga for $30 million?
17:59Why is he fighting Munguia for $30 million?
18:02You can get $80 million
18:03with somebody that doesn't bring
18:04anything to the table.
18:06So what is that?
18:07So it's obviously that the fight
18:08with Canelo is not happening.
18:10David here is $175 million.
18:12There's only two guys,
18:13Vival and Viterbi.
18:14Whose fight you would look most forward to?
18:18Like, Vival makes fights.
18:20So if he fights Vival or Viterbi,
18:22who would you prefer?
18:24Like I said, man, you know,
18:25to be honest,
18:26we're at $175 million now.
18:28And all the things that's about Canelo,
18:30Canelo, Canelo.
18:31We left $168 million,
18:33so we don't have to deal with that anymore.
18:35Canelo is scared.
18:36He does not want to face
18:37the Mexican monster.
18:38But going back to your question
18:40about the $175 million,
18:41who will give more problems to David?
18:42I think both of these fighters
18:44at $175 million,
18:45Viterbi and Vival,
18:46they're great fighters, man.
18:47They're the best at $175 million.
18:49Viterbi is a fucking monster.
18:51100% knockout artist, you know?
18:54Vival beat Canelo.
18:56So I think both of those fights
18:57are super dangerous,
18:58but we'll fight anybody.
19:00And we're not asking for money,
19:02you know?
19:03We're not here,
19:04oh, yeah, they gave me $30,000 million,
19:06you know, whatever,
19:07$30 million, $40 million.
19:08No, we just want to make history.
19:09So at the end of the day,
19:10these guys,
19:11I think they'll want to fight David.
19:12Because, you know,
19:13they don't have the opportunity
19:14like Canelo, you know?
19:15They'll fight anybody.
19:16So any of them will take.
19:18Whoever wants to step in,
19:19that'll be a great fight.
19:20And those are the fighters
19:21that we're looking for,
19:22Viterbi or Vival.
19:23Do you think Viterbi
19:24will be that guy
19:25that actually with power
19:26that can push David
19:27and show that footwork?
19:29Of course, you know,
19:30we got to respect his power.
19:31He has a lot of power,
19:32but, you know,
19:33if we were to fight Viterbi,
19:36you know,
19:37we'll definitely see
19:38who's the stronger guy,
19:39you know?
19:40And if I see that,
19:41you know,
19:42he's connecting
19:43and kind of hurting David,
19:44we have to make adjustments.
19:45Now we're going to have
19:46to use our feet.
19:47We're going to have to use angle.
19:48But if I see that David,
19:49because of his age,
19:50it's looking good, you know?
19:52And he's looking,
19:53we'll continue to do that.
19:54But that's why
19:55we have to learn
19:56how to make adjustments,
19:57you know?
19:58At the end of the day,
19:59if we're doing good,
20:00why not stay there
20:01and risk a little bit, you know?
20:02But if we feel that power,
20:03guess what?
20:04We're going to have to move around
20:05and try to be more smart.
20:06All right, thank you.
20:07Awesome.
20:08It looks like you're doing a team.
